Pink Tutu Paris: Bonjour from the City of Lights! (Post #315)

Hello, darlings! Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing, ballet-loving, Paris-obsessed blogger, bringing you another whirlwind adventure from the City of Lights! It's Saturday, January 7th, 2006, and the air is crisp and clean, filled with the enchanting scent of freshly baked bread and the promise of exciting Parisian discoveries.

This week, my adventures began in the heart of Derbyshire, where I had a particularly charming gig at the Buxton Opera House. The energy of the audience was just electrifying, and their applause, like a gentle flurry of pink tulle, swept me away. It felt wonderful to be back home, amongst the rolling hills and quaint cobblestone streets, before heading to the Eurostar station and hopping on the train that would take me to the heart of my beloved Paris!

As I journeyed through the English countryside, the thought of my Parisian escape filled me with excitement. Paris, oh Paris, you have stolen my heart with your romantic cobbled streets, stunning architecture, and endless fashion inspiration! Every Parisian window display is a symphony of style and elegance, each storefront brimming with dresses that beckon you to waltz into a world of exquisite fashion.

I love arriving in Paris by train. There's something magical about the journey. The countryside whizzing by, the soft clinking of the train, and the anticipation of arriving at Gare du Nord. Once I step off the train, I can practically taste the croissants and feel the warmth of a Parisian café.

This weekend, I have a very special date with the world of ballet. I am going to the Palais Garnier to watch "Swan Lake" by the Paris Opera Ballet. I have dreamt of attending this exquisite performance for years and this weekend my dream comes true! It's such a thrill to be seeing a masterpiece by one of the most renowned ballet companies in the world. I can barely contain my excitement.

But my weekend in Paris is all about embracing the beautiful duality of the city. After the ethereal elegance of "Swan Lake", I am looking forward to embracing the quirky charm of Parisian street culture. Tomorrow, I will be visiting the Montmartre district to wander through the narrow streets, indulge in some delightful café au lait and pastries, and discover hidden Parisian gems!

And no trip to Paris would be complete without a visit to some of its chicest boutiques. The French have such a unique and sophisticated style. From the elegant haute couture boutiques on the Avenue Montaigne to the vintage treasures on the Rue de Rennes, Paris is a paradise for those who love fashion! I just can't wait to wander around, and fill my basket with all sorts of stylish treasures, of course, I'll share them all with you next week!

After a weekend full of ballet, fashion, and Parisian exploration, I plan on heading to the local equestrian stables on Monday to get my horse riding fix. It's not often I find time to spend a few hours riding, but it's always a lovely way to ground myself.

To ensure my Paris adventure is fully fuelled, I'm sure there will be more delectable French pastries in my near future, followed by delicious macarons to enjoy! It wouldn't be a proper Parisian escapade without some treats, now, would it?

I'll be posting updates about my Parisian weekend on my social media throughout the week, and sharing a recap next Saturday. Until then, keep spreading the joy of ballet and the power of a beautiful pink tutu! Don't forget, my darlings, a pink tutu is all you need to be truly yourself and add a splash of whimsy to every day.

Bisous from the City of Lights!
