It’s Saturday 21st January 2006, and my Parisian adventure is in full swing. I can’t believe I'm already on week three, time just seems to whizz by when you're exploring such a gorgeous city! And my friends, I have a feeling this week's adventures are going to be particularly enchanting…
A Dashing Eurostar Journey to Parisian Glamour
Last week, I was buzzing with anticipation for this trip! After all, what better way to travel to the City of Lights than on a Eurostar? It's like a fairytale, don't you think? Stepping onto the train in London and whizzing through the English countryside, all the while dreaming of Parisian balconies draped in bougainvillea and cafes humming with life. My travel outfit, of course, was the epitome of pink tutu glamour. I paired a vibrant fuchsia tulle tutu with a shimmering silver top and a pearl-studded headband. Just picture me waltzing down the train corridor, spreading joy and a touch of whimsy to fellow travellers.
Oh Là Là! The Ritz Paris & Haute Couture Dreams
Speaking of dreamy… have you ever stayed in the Ritz Paris? Let me tell you, it’s exactly like a fairytale! Upon arriving in the grand lobby, my eyes nearly popped out! Chandeliers dripping with crystal, impeccably dressed staff, and the faint scent of rose petals… It's no wonder Coco Chanel once called it her home! I'm indulging in a suite fit for a ballerina princess – fluffy white pillows, Parisian-themed artwork, and enough shimmering fabrics to create a whole new tutu collection! This weekend, I'm taking a little fashion break from my pink tutu world, to delve into the captivating world of Haute Couture. Parisian fashion designers are such dreamers! The intricate detail and delicate fabrics they work with inspire my own tutu designs – I just can't wait to see what trends are sweeping the catwalks!
The Thrill of the Theatre
Of course, no visit to Paris would be complete without a taste of theatre magic! Tonight, I'm experiencing the spectacle of 'Romeo and Juliet' at the Théâtre de la Madeleine. Imagine, watching love and tragedy unfold under the Parisian starlight! I just know I'm going to be mesmerized by the powerful storytelling and elegant dance choreography – Paris certainly knows how to put on a show! This show, like most, will help to fund the next stage of my pink tutu adventures!
A Pink Tutu Shopping Spree & Parisian Treats
My week wouldn’t be complete without a shopping spree at the Galeries Lafayette! The French truly have an understanding of style – the textures, the colors, and the classic Parisian chic… It's truly inspiring. Imagine delicate lace trims, buttery soft cashmere, and silks so smooth they melt against your skin. I'm on the hunt for a beautiful pastel pink scarf and maybe some tiny ballet shoes adorned with tiny pearls, perfect for my future tutus. To complete this Parisian indulgence, I’ll be stopping by my favourite Parisian bakery, Ladurée, for a macaron or two… their pistachio flavour is divine!
Back to Derbyshire Next Week
Next Saturday, I will be back in Derbyshire, with a trunkful of pink-hued Parisian inspiration, a head brimming with new dance ideas, and a heart overflowing with the love of ballet and Parisian magic.
