Pink Tutu Blog: Paris – Post #321 - A Whirlwind of Romance and Tutus
Bonjour, mes chérie!
It’s Saturday morning, and I’m sipping on a perfectly brewed latte at a little cafe overlooking the Seine, sun shining, birds chirping, the Eiffel Tower glittering in the distance - absolute bliss! I’m writing to you all from Paris, the city of love and lights, and of course, fashion!
It's always so much fun to catch the EuroStar to Paris. The journey itself is a mini-adventure. All those lovely views, watching the world rush by, and feeling that gentle rocking motion as you glide through tunnels. The moment you step off at Gare du Nord and into the bustle of the city, it’s pure magic!
This week’s Paris adventure was a whirlwind of colour, tulle, and elegance, as it always is! The pink tutu never lets me down - even on Parisian cobbles. I actually had the best Parisian daydream in a little cafe overlooking the Seine. As I gazed at the twinkling water and the grand Parisian buildings rising up around me, I imagined I was a Parisian ballerina, twirling in a pink tutu across the beautiful bridges of Paris! A dream, I know, but what a wonderful one it was!
This week, I wanted to explore a little beyond the familiar tourist hotspots of Paris and discover some hidden gems. After a fabulous ballet class (which is something I’ll always do in Paris, it's like recharging my ballerina soul!), I took a horse-drawn carriage ride through the quaint little streets of Montmartre.
Oh my goodness! The little cobbled streets were like something from a storybook, and the atmosphere was so romantic and carefree. I felt like a heroine from one of those classic French novels, with my pink tutu swishing behind me as I soaked up the atmosphere!
Montmartre is just as full of creative energy and art as I always thought. It felt buzzing with artists and performers everywhere I went - just beautiful! After a stroll, I sat at a small outdoor cafe, relishing a beautiful Croque Monsieur while watching artists working on their canvasses and performers busking their hearts out in the charming squares. What an absolute joy!
The next day was a truly special one. I discovered this amazing shop that stocked the most exquisite vintage hats - perfect for adding a touch of Parisian chic to my outfits! It was such a happy day, finding so many pieces I couldn’t resist bringing home.
Then came the pièce de résistance – a ballet performance at the Opéra Garnier. My goodness! It was just absolutely incredible! Every detail of the show - the costumes, the stage design, the performance itself – was just exquisite and breathtaking. I swear I was completely mesmerized by the beauty and artistry of it all, every cell of my being was tingling with excitement!
Later that night, we joined some friends for dinner in the charming and bohemian Marais district. We enjoyed delicious wine and the most wonderful conversation about everything and nothing - so typically Parisian! It's that easy conversation and shared passion for everything beautiful that makes this city such a treat to explore.
It’s moments like these, seeing those incredible performances, experiencing the joy of discovering new shops, catching glimpses of a city coming to life with colour, laughter, and music, that really reminds me how lucky I am to live life on a pink-tutu fuelled adventure! I really am living my best life, sharing it with you, and hopefully inspiring you to put on a tutu too!
Saturday is usually my Paris blogging day - it’s the perfect time to share all the Parisian adventures and escapades! We've got a little more exploring to do in Paris before heading home. My Paris diary continues! Stay tuned for next week’s post!
I’m off now for a pastry and some more sunshine - au revoir for now!
