Pink Tutu Blog: Paris, Sweet Paris! (Post #335)

Bonjour mes chéries!

It’s Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to the City of Lights! Can you believe it? Me, in Paris! The ultimate dream come true. Let’s just say, it involved a whole lot of pink, a whole lot of tutus, and enough crêpes to feed a small village (okay, maybe not that many, but I definitely enjoyed more than my fair share!)

As you know, I’m all about making the most of life, and a ballet girl needs her escapades. My current adventure involved a grand Eurostar trip, which, by the way, is surprisingly glamorous, even in a pink tutu (don’t worry, I coordinated!). I always have the best time on those train journeys, the views are magical and it's so calming.

Now, Paris is like a symphony of beautiful things. The architecture is breathtaking, the people are chic, and the food... oh my! (Crêpes, macarons, cheese - need I say more?) But most importantly, it was overflowing with ballet! It was absolutely magical to experience such a vibrant ballet scene, and you can bet I caught at least two performances a day - at least one classical ballet show, and usually one ballet street or theater show.

Let me tell you, my pink tutu went absolutely everywhere! The Eiffel Tower? Check! The Louvre? Check! (There’s just something about a tutu and a Mona Lisa, right?) The Seine? Check! We even hopped onto a bateau-mouche for a river cruise! And let's be honest, the Eiffel Tower looks even better from the top with a tutu swirling around your legs! 😉

But Paris isn’t all about the classics. I fell head-over-heels for the fashion, of course. From vintage finds to contemporary boutiques, I was on a serious shopping spree. Think fluffy tulle skirts, elegant little black dresses, and everything in-between. The streets are basically a runway! I can’t wait to show you what I picked up - stay tuned for a special shopping haul blog post coming soon!

You guys, let's be honest, it's hard to write a blog post about Paris without mentioning how many times I said "Oh la la!" every day, and even then, it still doesn't quite do the city justice!

Here’s a glimpse of my Paris adventures from Saturday 27th May:

  • Morning: Bonjour from a croissant-fueled Paris! My day kicked off with a spot of street ballet at the Jardin des Tuileries. The dancers were simply dazzling, and I found myself totally captivated by their moves. Afterwards, a coffee break at a charming café while I plotted my shopping route for the afternoon. I love this time of day, the Parisians are just waking up, the sun is streaming through the Parisian rooftops and I can just feel the magic of this city all around me. Paris has a real buzz.

  • Afternoon: Time for some shopping therapy! I spent a glorious few hours flitting through the beautiful shops in Le Marais. Vintage dresses, hats, and shoes... I could have easily spent the whole day in there, but I had a ballet to catch! The show I saw this afternoon was Swan Lake, performed at the Palais Garnier. It was just sublime - every graceful movement, every intricate costume. Pure magic!

  • Evening: I joined a Parisian dance class at the Studio de la Danse in Montmartre. Let's just say my muscles are aching, but my soul is happy! Nothing beats a good workout followed by a delicious meal. I savoured every bite of a decadent dinner, complete with a glass of delicious French wine, at a traditional bistro near the Seine. Watching the river flowing beneath the city lights, with a gentle breeze blowing through my hair, made me feel absolutely blissful!

Paris, you have captured my heart! It's so much more than just a city, it's a dream, a fairytale, and the perfect place to twirl, shop and be truly yourself! I will definitely be back.

Until next week, mes chéries! Remember, the world is your dance floor, so embrace it, twirl with passion, and don't be afraid to wear a little pink!

Lots of love, Emma 💕
