Bonjour from the City of Lights! Well, it's not quite that lit just yet. It's a blustery, rather gloomy Parisian morning and, as I gaze out the window of my darling little Parisian hotel, the only "light" I can see is the glimmering Eiffel Tower in the distance - even she looks a bit grey today. But worry not, my dearest readers! This Pink Tutu Blogger knows a thing or two about finding sparkle in the greyest of days. Especially when a visit to the grand capital of France is on the agenda.
This weekend marks the start of my latest Parisian adventure, and let me tell you, I'm already absolutely smitten. Arriving on the Eurostar is always such a treat, a little journey through the channel that transports me straight into the heart of France. I love the little compartments, all snug and intimate, and the feeling of crossing that invisible border that marks the transition between my beloved Derbyshire and this wonderfully continental atmosphere.
Of course, no journey to Paris is complete without a certain sartorial flair, and I packed my suitcase to the brim with pink, pink, and more pink! A flurry of tutus, the softest pinks, and a touch of glittery Parisian charm - I'm ready to dance my way through the city! The train carriage is just waiting for a performance! Though I fear, the dear gentlemen sitting opposite may be a little perplexed by my passion for a pink tutu! Still, I'm hoping my boundless enthusiasm will make them smile and join in with the joyous occasion. Maybe it will encourage a certain level of spontaneous flash mob action? One can only dream, and hope, of course!
Now, this trip to Paris is all about exploring. It's about taking in the breathtaking views, savouring the exquisite flavours of French cuisine, and of course, soaking up all that artistic energy. My mission? To experience the beauty of the ballet in all its Parisian glory! The famous Paris Opera Ballet is top of my list. I’ve heard whispers of their new production, 'Giselle'. My inner ballerina simply cannot resist! I just love the costumes - they are just so wonderfully intricate and the dancers always make it look effortless, gliding with such grace.
I must admit, this particular trip to Paris is also a tiny bit self-indulgent. I’m hoping to get a peek into some of the top designers' ateliers - oh, the glorious pink tulle gowns I imagine they are working on right now! A bit of shopping spree in the couture shops is a must, even if it’s just for a quick look, and maybe some cheeky snaps for the Instagram!

All the delicate pinks and colours are simply irresistible. You know, I do have to practice restraint and remember I'm on a mission to inspire others to wear a pink tutu, but this is no reason to refrain from sampling the delicacies!
Oh! What would be a Paris trip without a visit to the Palace of Versailles! I know it's a little out of the city, but it’s such a special experience, a place where history really does come alive. All those stunning gardens are the perfect backdrop for a tutu photoshoot. You can be sure I'll be posting plenty of pictures! I've booked a ride on a horse drawn carriage – wouldn't it be divine to trot around Versailles in all my pink glory? It does feel just a bit like a fairytale come to life!
