Pink Tutu Blog Paris: Post 338 - 17th June 2006

Bonjour from Paris, my darlings! As you know, I absolutely adore travelling and it's hard to think of anywhere more romantic and exciting than the City of Lights! I flew into the Gare du Nord in the most glamorous way imaginable – by EuroStar, naturally. My outfit, which of course featured my favourite pink tutu, was a triumph of Parisian chic and the perfect way to start my journey.

It's Saturday and the weather's absolutely glorious! Sun's shining, a gentle breeze is floating through the air and everyone seems to be enjoying the Parisian joie de vivre. This whole trip feels like a ballet in itself, a pirouette of vibrant colours and dazzling energy.

A Day of Ballet & Parisian Dreams

My morning started, as it often does, with a little ballet class. The studio was absolutely charming, a light and airy space with views of the city beyond. I was a little intimidated by the local dancers but the instructor, a woman with eyes that sparkled like champagne and the grace of a young gazelle, was warm and encouraging. And yes, I did manage a couple of fouettés that didn't quite land me in a pile of tulle!

After class, it was time to indulge in the very best of Parisian cuisine, a delicious and delightfully healthy salad in a cafe on the Rue de Rivoli.

Stepping Into The World of Fashion & Style

What better way to spend an afternoon in Paris than by exploring the boutiques and ateliers of the city? I absolutely adore wandering the streets of Paris, absorbing the beauty and artistry. The light, the atmosphere, the colours, everything is so breathtakingly stylish. I can't resist adding a few key pieces to my wardrobe and today I'm on the lookout for some stunning summer hats and perhaps even a new pair of pink ballet shoes.

The Ballet, The Glamour, The Magic

Later this evening, I'll be heading to the magnificent Palais Garnier, home of the Paris Opera. Oh my! The anticipation is mounting. This evening's performance is going to be "The Nutcracker", one of my absolute favourites.

This will be my third trip to see "The Nutcracker" in Paris and every time it’s a revelation. There’s such passion and energy here in the air; you feel it when you step into the grand foyer and are greeted by its exquisite architecture, with the gilded chandeliers twinkling above. You see it in the dancers, every move infused with such technical excellence and grace. It truly is a spectacle for the soul!

Tutu Up, Let's Go!

I just had to squeeze in a few more shopping ventures - a little pink beret for this Parisian weather and, of course, some of the exquisite macarons that France is so famous for. I picked up a beautiful box, a delicious mix of flavours and shades. Pink, naturally!

Now, time to change into my pink tutu – and the perfect shade of pink, I might add – ready for my evening performance. It's all about feeling fantastic and being a part of the magic.

I'll be writing again next Saturday with more news from my Parisian adventures! Until then, remember, it’s all about expressing yourself through style, embracing colour, and always remembering that a pink tutu is the perfect accessory for any adventure!

Lots of love and pirouettes,

Emma x
