Bonjour, mon petit chou-chous! Welcome back to my Parisian escapade. This week I’m bursting with excitement about my latest adventure.
This Saturday marked another chapter in my mission to make the world a little bit pinker. This time, I traded the Derbyshire countryside for the charming streets of Paris!
My trusty pink suitcase was overflowing with my signature tutus – oh, the joy of a wardrobe full of tulle! And you know what? Paris seems to love a little bit of pink too! It’s practically a love song written in hues of blush and flamingo, from the pastel macarons lining the bakery windows to the blooms spilling out of every florist.
The EuroStar Express
How else could a tutu-loving ballerina embark on a Parisian adventure than via the EuroStar? It felt like stepping into a movie, watching the green English countryside fade into the grey buildings of Paris. I loved the journey itself - I couldn't help but twirl a bit in my seat to the gentle rhythmic clickety-clack of the train. The sound is like an irresistible ballet soundtrack!
A Pinky Promenade
Upon arriving in Paris, I headed straight for the charming hotel where I'll be calling home for the next few days. My heart did a little flutter when I spotted a sweet, blush pink room awaiting my arrival! This Parisian pink princess could ask for nothing more!
After a little rest, I ventured out to explore the city’s iconic sights, starting with the Eiffel Tower. Imagine the feeling of seeing that elegant structure rising from the streets! And let's not forget the breathtaking views from the top! I can still picture myself up there, tutu swishing gently in the breeze. What a perfect photo op!
Dancing with Dreams
This week has also been dedicated to the true love of my life – ballet! On Friday, I caught the most enchanting performance of “Giselle” at the Palais Garnier. My inner ballerina was spellbound – the beauty, the passion, the artistry – it was a sensory experience I won’t soon forget! It truly re-ignited my love for classical ballet and gave me all the inspiration I needed for my own ballet class!
I'm happy to say that I did find the most charming and intimate studio where I indulged in a class that was oh-so-French and wonderfully elegant! Just picturing myself leaping and swirling in my pink tutu fills me with happiness!
The Art of Indulgence
Paris is not just about iconic sights and world-class ballet – it’s a fashionista's paradise! So, naturally, I spent an afternoon lost in the enchanting boutiques and vintage shops of the Marais. I scored a stunning silk scarf with a gorgeous pink floral design - perfect for those Parisian cafes with views of the Seine!
Of course, a Parisian adventure wouldn’t be complete without a delicious afternoon treat! My heart almost leaped out of my chest when I discovered a bakery dedicated entirely to macarons! This Parisian treat is practically made for a ballet dancer's sweet tooth, and I'm telling you, they were pure Parisian heaven. Pink, of course, was my absolute favourite flavour. A perfect pick-me-up for the evening's performances at a vibrant theatre.
I couldn’t resist treating myself to a stunning evening dress at the city’s most beautiful department store – oh, the sparkle and shine! I twirled like a ballerina in the dressing room and my heart was so full of excitement to wear it that evening for my evening adventure.
Paris by Night
Once the sun began to set, I found myself at a charming café, overlooking the Seine. It felt like a scene from a movie - the twinkling lights, the sounds of music, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, and of course, a Parisian gentleman in a beret admiring me! I simply felt so full of life and wonder in this beautiful city! My heart truly believes Paris is the ultimate city for tutus and dreams.
As I write this blog, sitting in a beautiful French cafe, the Parisian spirit of art, passion and style swirls around me. It's inspiring and heartwarming to be in such a gorgeous city where so much beauty abounds. This pink princess is certainly falling in love with the City of Lights!
