#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post #360 - A Tutuful Parisian Adventure!

Bonjour, mes amies! It’s Saturday, November 18th, 2006, and I'm back in Paris for the third time this year, already! The city is truly magic, a whirl of chic boutiques, enchanting street performances, and, of course, ballet - the very soul of Paris!

I know I say this every week, but I am SO thrilled to be back! Paris is truly a pink-tutu-worthy place. The Parisian people love a little splash of colour and extravagance - after all, it's the home of fashion and haute couture!

This time I arrived in style, gliding into the Gare du Nord on the EuroStar – talk about a chic journey! The train journey is always such a treat, like travelling in a giant carriage. I can't help but imagine myself in a fairy tale as I watch the English countryside melt away into rolling French hills, my favourite pink cashmere scarf draped over my shoulders.

Speaking of which, I've brought my new blush-pink tutu! A new tutu is essential for every Parisian adventure – it's a symbol of joy, beauty, and, of course, my love for all things pink! It's fluffy, voluminous, and perfectly matched with a delicate vintage cardigan and a little pair of black satin heels.

First stop - The Louvre!

The Louvre is absolutely breathtaking. We saw Michelangelo's 'Dying Slave' - truly a piece of art, frozen in time. The sculpture is so detailed and expressive - I imagine it even moved to a classical ballet, set to music from the romantic era! It was just SO inspiring.

Paris by Night - Lights, Laughter, and Tutus!

Paris is simply magic at night! After an enchanting day at the Louvre, we ended up in the Latin Quarter. Cobblestone streets lined with charming cafes and twinkling fairy lights gave me that familiar 'tutu twirling' feeling. The atmosphere was magical, filled with laughter and the melodies of a street musician serenading passersby with an accordion. It was perfect!

And of course, no trip to Paris is complete without a ballet! Tonight's performance is 'Swan Lake' at the Opéra Garnier, an opulent theatre designed with opulent charm! My favourite part? The costume change where the ballerina dances as the Black Swan – just magical and dramatic. And, you know me, I can never resist wearing a black tulle tutu when attending a ballet. It adds just a dash of magic to any evening!

My Shopping Spree!

Where would Paris be without a trip to the shops? This week, my sights were set on vintage shops! Paris is simply a paradise for all things vintage, from fabulous fifties dresses to elegant art-deco jewellery. I found the most beautiful lavender hat, the perfect shade to match my favourite ballet shoes. My shopping spree is never complete without visiting a Parisian fabric shop! This time, I bought a vintage lace tablecloth in a rich pink, perfect for a pink tutu party back in Derbyshire!

Food Glorious Food!

French food is simply divine, full of delicate flavours and delicious aromas. I spent the afternoon indulging in a quintessential Parisian lunch - a crisp, golden-brown baguette with meltingly delicious Camembert cheese. A small patisserie on the corner beckoned with irresistible macarons – one of which just had to make its way to my pink-tutu-covered belly!

Pink Tutus for Everyone!

As I stroll along the cobbled streets of Paris, watching couples waltz under the stars, and children play with carefree joy, I can’t help but imagine everyone in Paris - and the world - wearing a pink tutu! It is a symbol of love, happiness and joyful living. It makes me believe we can create a brighter, more colourful world! It's all about embracing your individuality and spreading that pink-tutu-love, right?

This trip to Paris has filled my heart with a sense of joy and wonder. It's reminded me why I love this city, and why it has a special place in my heart - as special as a new tutu! Paris is the perfect mix of fashion, romance and a deep-rooted appreciation for the finer things in life, it's no wonder that it is the ultimate inspiration for a pink tutu-loving girl like myself.

Until next week, my dears, au revoir and bon voyage! Follow my Paris journey on www.pink-tutu.com, see you there!
