Pink Tutu Paris: Blog Post #373 - A Parisian Dream!
Bonjour mes chéries!
It's Saturday, which means it's time for another Parisian escapade! I'm back from a whirlwind weekend in the City of Lights, and I'm positively bursting with tales of chic cafes, spectacular ballet shows, and of course, more pink tutus than you can shake a feather boa at!
This week, my adventure began in the charming village of Chesterfield, Derbyshire, where I boarded the glorious EuroStar. It's just a hop, skip and jump to Paris - and I'm always delighted by the magic of travelling by train. There's something so wonderfully romantic about it, isn't there? Imagine, the smooth rhythm of the journey, the sweeping views, and the gentle lull of the wheels on the track... it truly sets the mood for a fabulous trip!
And of course, what journey would be complete without my trusty pink tutu? I'm actually wearing a new one I picked up from a vintage shop in Nottingham – it's absolutely stunning! Layers upon layers of soft tulle, a delicate rose pink shade, and an adorable little bow on the waist. Oh, and the feathers – a cloud of blush-coloured dreams. My outfit? Pure Parisian chic – think striped Breton top, black and white polka-dot dress layered beneath my tutu, and my trusty pink cardigan for the brisk French air. It was practically a fashion shoot before I even reached the station!
But enough about me and my whimsical attire (though let's face it, who can ever get enough of a good pink tutu, right?). The true magic of Paris was just beginning.
Once I arrived in the grand Gare du Nord, I was greeted with a charming Parisian melody – a street violinist playing Mozart beneath a shimmering crystal chandelier. Oh, it was utterly delightful! I felt like I had stepped straight into a musical!
And my lovelies, my adventure only just begun. My weekend in Paris included:
A heavenly performance by the Paris Opera Ballet at the Palais Garnier. You simply must see the spectacle of the ballet! This magnificent venue, it's as if it’s been designed especially for tutus! I even found an adorable vintage feather boa in one of the many Parisian vintage stores, which made the whole experience even more magical!
Shopping, darling, shopping! You wouldn't believe the treasure trove of chic vintage clothing shops nestled within the cobblestone streets of Le Marais! I snagged a delightful pink handbag with a vintage chain and a stunning pink ribbon headband. Imagine a ballet dancer with a dash of chic vintage, that's me, baby! It was the perfect outfit for our…
Picnic in the Tuileries Garden. Sunshine, the gentle sound of Parisian laughter, and a baguette overflowing with creamy cheese, this is how you embrace the French spirit! What could be better than sharing my baguette with a charming stranger, and a bit of gentle conversation over the beauty of a spring Parisian day? You know, Paris can be the most magical of places!
The Parisian Art scene – simply stunning. I fell head over heels for a display of contemporary Parisian fashion art at a lovely boutique in Saint Germain. The colours, the textures, it all truly brought back that childlike wonder I had so easily forgotten about. It's moments like these that I truly feel like the world is an artistic wonderland, full of inspiration and dreams! It was like a ballet of vibrant shapes, textures, and designs, a feast for my fashion-loving eyes!
And all this is not to mention the fabulous cafes, the charming street musicians, the chic Parisian locals, the elegant architecture… truly, Paris is the perfect backdrop for a girl in a pink tutu.
My lovely readers, this past week was a perfect little slice of Parisian dream. It reminds me why I do what I do - to travel, to explore, and most importantly, to inspire! Remember, dear lovelies, we all have a bit of the "Pink Tutu" spirit in us. Just let your own imagination be your guide and embrace the magical, the whimsical, and the fabulous.
Until next week, my sweet loves!
Xoxo,
Emma
