#PinkTutuBlogParis - Saturday 2007-04-07 - Bonjour from Paris! 🩰🇫🇷

Hello darlings! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet, Pink-Tutu.com! It's your favourite pink-loving, tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, back with another Parisian adventure. This week's post is a little special, as it marks number 380 on my #PinkTutuBlogParis! Time flies when you're having fun, right? 💖

And fun is definitely what I'm having here in the City of Lights! I arrived yesterday after a gloriously smooth journey on the EuroStar. As usual, I couldn't resist a touch of pink to brighten up my travel attire - a pale blush scarf and a delicate rose-gold necklace paired perfectly with my trusty, vintage pink tutu, naturally. You never know who you might bump into on the train, and even on a weekday journey, a little bit of "ballet sparkle" is always a good idea.

Speaking of sparkling, I can't even begin to describe the way Paris lights up when the sun starts to set! We're staying at the cutest little hotel near the Eiffel Tower, and every night I feel like I'm living in a fairytale. It's just magical, even with the drizzle that has been hanging around all week. (Don't worry, my trusty pink brolly is always at hand!).

So, onto the highlights of my Parisian escapades this week!

*Day 1: * Arriving in Paris, exploring the Latin Quarter, and indulging in delicious Parisian macarons. It's pretty impossible to resist these delicate treats! It's always fun to stroll through the bustling Latin Quarter with the smell of fresh croissants and the sound of Parisian street musicians floating around. It’s a reminder that sometimes, simplicity really is the most magical ingredient in life.

Day 2: I indulged my love of fashion with a morning spent shopping at the stunning Galeries Lafayette. It's hard not to feel like you've stepped into a fairytale in those gorgeous glass-roofed halls! The intricate displays, the beautiful mannequins, and the overall luxurious feel truly inspired my creative spirit! I even spotted a beautiful vintage pink tulle scarf that I just had to have – the perfect accessory to complete my look. And yes, I found some adorable ballet flats that made my feet happy and will look fab with my new scarf!

*Day 3: * After all that shopping, it was time for a little culture! We went to see a performance of Giselle at the Opera Garnier. Talk about stunning! The intricate choreography, the dramatic storytelling, and the stunning costumes… It was truly a breathtaking spectacle. And did I mention the incredible acoustics? They really transport you straight into the heart of the performance. I even got to meet the Prima Ballerina afterwards! It was so inspirational, and the beautiful dancers reminded me that I truly need to make more time for my own practice (and I think I just need a new pink tutu to motivate me… ;) )

Day 4: A day of exploration with my nose deep in a book by Victor Hugo – Paris is truly a literary haven! Walking in the footsteps of my favourite authors, from Hemingway to Zola, inspires my imagination like nothing else. And of course, a stop for a spot of tea in the afternoon was a must! With all that Parisian excitement, it's easy to get caught up in the whirl and feel exhausted. But sometimes, it's the simplest things that can revive your spirits, like a perfect pot of English Breakfast tea (made with fresh, hot water and a proper milk jug!). We chose a little café just off the Seine River, and enjoyed a delicious tea and some freshly made croissants. Ah, simple pleasures!

Day 5: Time for something a little different! Today we visited the Louvre museum – and as I was getting my fix of Michelangelo and Da Vinci, a young ballet student struck up a conversation with me! She had seen me on the street wearing my tutu and we started chatting about ballet. She'd never seen it live but loved the graceful movements and was particularly inspired by the history of the art. I told her all about the beauty of the dance, how expressive and passionate it can be, and how rewarding it feels when you're putting your heart into your performance. And it wasn't long before we started chatting about everything, from the Parisian ballet schools to our favourite ballerinas and everything in between. And believe it or not, a lovely chat, and a few stories about ballet led us to our own little impromptu dance performance – just us two, with a backdrop of the Mona Lisa, and an air of pure joy. It truly showed me the magic of ballet - how it can connect people from different worlds and make everyone feel happy, regardless of whether they can actually dance.

Day 6: A lazy Sunday stroll around Montmartre – a perfect morning for capturing the creative spirit of Paris. With art, music, and a dash of Parisian bohemian magic filling the air, I truly feel at home.

Day 7: What is a visit to Paris without a delicious afternoon at a French patisserie? Today, I felt the need for something a bit “extra” (you know me and my penchant for the dramatic!). So, I decided to splurge on a selection of colourful and mouth-watering pastries – an assortment of delectable pink-hued macarons, éclairs, and even a rose-shaped raspberry tart – all because a bit of “girlie glamour” never hurt anyone. I sat outside at a little bistro in the Marais, watched the world go by and indulged in a little afternoon of blissful “sugar rush” with a good dose of Parisian café au lait.

Well, my darling readers, that concludes this week’s blog from Paris. It's been another wonderful week of ballet, culture, shopping, and plenty of “pink-tutu fun!”

It wouldn't be a Parisian adventure without a touch of Parisian elegance – so of course I had to grab a stunning new pale pink fedora from one of the cute little boutiques along the Seine, and, oh, how it makes me look chic!

The city of Paris truly knows how to cast its spell on your soul. Whether you're seeking culture, fashion, or a simple stroll along the river Seine, the City of Lights offers something for everyone – especially for a pink-tutu loving ballerina like myself. So, if you’re looking for inspiration, adventure, or a chance to feel truly alive, just say “Bonjour” to Paris – you’ll thank me later!

That's all for now. Until next Saturday! Remember, darling readers, always wear your tutu with pride and make the world a pinker place, one dance at a time! 🩰 💖

Much love,

Emma
