Pink Tutu Blog - Paris, #396

Saturday 2007-07-28 - Ooh La La! Paris is Calling!

Hello my darlings,

It’s me, Emma, back with a brand new blog post, straight from the heart of Paris! This week, I traded in my dancing shoes for my travel shoes, leaving the Derbyshire hills behind for the cobbled streets of the City of Lights. How do I manage to afford these fab adventures, you ask? Well, it’s all thanks to my amazing ballet performances! When I'm not pirouetting on stage, I'm pirouetting through Europe!

The Eurostar was a dream, a whirlwind of Parisian glamour hurtling me towards my destination at record speed. As the sleek, silver train glided through the tunnel, I couldn't help but imagine the fashion delights that awaited me in the French capital! I packed my favourite pink tutu, of course, ready to take on the Parisian streets with style.

The Moment We Arrived...

Stepping off the train at Gare du Nord, my senses were instantly overwhelmed. The air was buzzing with energy, the chatter of Parisians mingled with the honking of taxis and the laughter of tourists. The city was bursting with life, with its iconic architecture towering above me like a fairytale. We navigated the bustling station with our suitcases in tow, and finally emerged into the bright Parisian sunshine.

Our Parisian Hotel

Oh my, my darlings! We landed ourselves the most darling little boutique hotel just off the Champs-Élysées. Imagine: ornate gold ceilings, luxurious silk drapes, and the sweetest balcony overlooking a cobblestone street filled with charming cafés! You know me, I can't resist a little bit of vintage glamour.

A Chic Start to the Day

First order of the day? A Parisian breakfast, naturally! Imagine croissants so flaky they melt in your mouth, freshly squeezed orange juice that bursts with sunshine, and a steaming pot of strong French coffee. Oh, how I love this Parisian lifestyle! We were just starting the day, but I knew already it was going to be absolutely magnifique!

Shopping Extravaganza!

After breakfast, it was time to unleash the shopaholic in me! I knew I simply had to visit the iconic department store Galeries Lafayette. It's a fashion lover's paradise with a gorgeous stained glass dome. Every floor is an explosion of colour, and I spent hours lost in the endless racks of designer dresses and accessories. Oh, and did I mention the shoes? You haven't seen a shoe selection like this until you've been to Paris. There were platforms, stilettos, flats, everything! I tried on a stunning pair of bright pink pumps and dreamed about dancing the night away in them. And the Chanel handbags? Absolutely divine!

An Afternoon in the City of Lights

Later that afternoon, we took a stroll through the beautiful gardens of Tuileries. They're so calm and serene, surrounded by graceful statues and beautiful fountains. I just had to get a picture in my pink tutu amongst the blooms. Of course! After, we wandered through the historic streets of the Latin Quarter, where students gathered in cafes and artists painted under the charming old archways. There’s just so much history around you! You feel it all. It's no wonder artists, designers, and creatives have flocked to this city for centuries.

A Dinner Under the Stars

And finally, a dinner under the Parisian sky, surrounded by the twinkling lights of the Eiffel Tower! The atmosphere was simply magical. There was live music in the air, the taste of rich, decadent French food, and even a romantic serenade by a handsome street musician. Honestly, my darlings, what more could a girl ask for?

A Day in Pink

I couldn’t possibly be in Paris without paying a visit to the Palais Garnier! It’s an opera house straight out of a fairytale! We enjoyed a tour and even went to a ballet performance! It was stunning, with incredible costumes, stunning dancers, and even the famous "phantom" chandeliers.

A Bit of Ballet in the City

Today, we visited a little Parisian ballet studio hidden in a quiet alleyway. A delightful teacher was leading a small class of aspiring dancers in a graceful sequence of arabesques and pliés. The room was full of vibrant energy and the aroma of rosin, such an exciting mix! And guess what? I took a little class too! The room felt electric as I slipped on my pink tutu and danced among these inspiring ladies. My Parisian journey is already turning into an absolute dream!

A Glimpse of the Future...

So, my darlings, that concludes another week in Pink Tutu Blog, straight from the charming cobbled streets of Paris. It's truly the most beautiful city in the world. Filled with so much charm, romance, and elegance! As we wrap up the night, I'm filled with gratitude. I have so much to look forward to. More Parisian delights to explore and maybe even a few exciting adventures. Until next Saturday, stay fashionable and dance like nobody’s watching!

**Bisous,

Emma**

P.S. My dearest pink tutu lovers! Remember, wearing a pink tutu doesn't need to be restricted to a stage. Let your inner ballerina shine and strut your stuff, wherever you may go! Embrace the joy of pink! Embrace the joy of tutus! It's a philosophy for life, my darlings!
