Pink Tutu Blog: Paris - Post 397

Bonjour, darlings!

It's your favourite pink tutu-clad traveller, Emma, back from a whirlwind week in the City of Lights! As you know, Paris is like a dream for any girl who loves fashion, dancing, and a sprinkle of magic. And this trip, fuelled by the sweet sound of applause from my latest ballet performance, was no exception.

I zipped over on the EuroStar, feeling like I was stepping into a Jane Austen novel (minus the carriage, obviously). It’s such a fab way to travel, sitting back with a glass of French wine and dreaming up all the amazing sights I'd soon be seeing.

Now, I know some of you might think Paris is a little over the top - what with the Eiffel Tower and all those famous bakeries. But let me tell you, my darlings, there's something absolutely divine about walking those cobbled streets, catching a glimpse of the Seine glistening in the sunlight, and just absorbing the atmosphere.

Day One: A Dance in the Palais Garnier

As soon as I checked into my adorable little hotel, I whipped off my sensible travel trousers and slipped into my favourite pink tutu. It just seemed right, you know? Parisian style is all about a little flair and I’d heard whispers of a ballet performance that evening.

And it was simply sensational! The Palais Garnier - that majestic, gilded opera house - is breathtakingly beautiful. I sat in my velvet-cushioned seat, lost in the delicate beauty of the ballet, the passion of the dancers, and the dramatic lighting that turned the whole experience into a truly magical spectacle.

Later, we wandered around the vibrant Latin Quarter. The energy in this part of Paris is intoxicating! I stumbled upon a street performance - a young girl dancing on a street corner. Her movements were full of energy and raw talent, and for a few minutes, I felt like I was right back in the theatre, completely captivated.

Day Two: Bonjour, Haute Couture

Shopping in Paris? You bet your sweet pink tutu, my darlings! The Parisian designers understand the art of feminine style and the shops were like catnip for this girl. I wandered through the elegant boutiques, admiring the beautiful dresses and luxurious fabrics, my mind buzzing with new ideas for my own ballet costumes.

Of course, no shopping trip is complete without a stop at Ladurée. I tucked into some delicate macarons - a rainbow of pastel delights, so delicious, they should be illegal!

Day Three: The Beauty of Montmartre

Montmartre is like a different world. The cobbled streets wind their way up the hill, passing charming cafes and galleries, where art students were working diligently, bringing their dreams to life. I sat at an outdoor table, sipping a cup of coffee, and watched the world go by, feeling truly inspired.

In the evening, we headed back to the city centre for a romantic, candlelit dinner at a quaint bistro. Paris really knows how to capture a beautiful atmosphere.

Day Four: River Romance

I know this might sound like an odd one, but one of the things I loved most about Paris was simply walking by the Seine. It was peaceful and beautiful, the smell of fresh croissants coming from nearby boulangeries and the sounds of children laughing nearby. It was simply idyllic. We took a little boat ride along the river, admiring the iconic views of Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower bathed in golden evening light.

That night, I felt the magic of Paris really seep into my soul as we took a little picnic out on the terrace of the Louvre, enjoying a feast of bread, cheese and red wine, with a backdrop of twinkling lights.

Day Five: Bonjour, Ballet

My darling readers, I have some big news! I'm excited to share that I got the opportunity to meet one of the stars of the ballet in Paris - I had the most amazing chat about life on stage and the secrets to perfecting the perfect pirouette. He even offered to give me a private ballet class one day!

You guys know I’m always striving to elevate my performances and I feel like that little snippet of wisdom from this renowned dancer has really inspired me! And of course, that same night, I saw another ballet show in the city and was left utterly enthralled, feeling that indescribable magic wash over me as I sat and watched.

Day Six: Bonjour, Sweet Dreams

After a quick visit to the iconic Louvre - we both agreed that Michelangelo's "David" is more magnificent in person! - I sat and reflected on my journey. I always find travelling expands my creative spirit. Each experience, each colour, each sound, shapes the next ballet routine. I had such a blast - from Parisian streets to Parisian theatres and a splash of the perfect pink tulle thrown in, of course!

And guess what? You know I just had to bring you a souvenir - the perfect, chic, pink Parisian scarf. And because you guys mean so much to me, I’m running a giveaway on my website www.pink-tutu.com - all you have to do is post your favourite memory of Paris! (And yes, wearing a pink tutu is acceptable.)

This week's Paris escapade has left me utterly charmed, my dear readers. As I write this, I’m already dreaming of my next trip back, where I can indulge in even more French elegance and find those perfect Parisian pink tutus. Until next Saturday, remember, always wear pink and always chase your dreams!

Adieu!

Emma
