#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post 400 - Saturday 2007-08-25 - Bonjour Paris!

Well, darlings, I've done it again! The EuroStar has delivered me, safe and sound, to the City of Lights for a whirlwind weekend of culture, fashion and…pink tutus, of course! This is post number 400 on my Paris blog, and what a special one it is. It's always a thrill to visit this gorgeous city, and I feel like Paris is actually embracing the pink tutu vibe more and more. My latest pink tutu with the sequins on the bottom is actually very "Parisian" – it's almost like an oversized version of a vintage petticoat – the French do know their way around a flouncy frock!

This trip is a bit different from my usual ballet-focused tours, you see. You may know that I fund these Parisian adventures through ballet performances and workshops - I'm an independent dancer after all! Well, this time, I'm celebrating reaching my 400th Paris blog post, a personal milestone! To be honest, I feel like every trip is a bit of a celebration! But it wouldn't be the "Pink Tutu" way to simply relax by the Seine – oh, no, this girl loves her Parisian pursuits!

So, my plans for this Parisian weekend are overflowing with fun: I'm heading to a Ballet Opera, and who knows, perhaps we'll bump into some fashionable French ballerinas! Maybe there will even be some "street ballet" to see on the way! I'll be making a pilgrimage to the incredible boutiques lining Rue Cambon ( I need to find that perfect silk scarf to complement my pink tutu collection!) and indulging in the most divine macarons I can find.

I just love that even my love of macarons (and my pink tutus!) are accepted with so much good grace in Paris – French fashion has always been a mix of chic and a touch of whimsical fun! It’s almost like they’ve always understood the magic of the Pink Tutu, even without me! And I have to say, my fellow Parisian pink tutu-lovers, you’re giving it a great go - I saw so many tulle skirts, flouncy dresses and pink accents on my EuroStar journey. The whole world is embracing pink tutus, and honestly, I love it!

I will tell you all about the fabulous discoveries, charming shops and, most importantly, my Parisian tutu adventures. Be sure to check back here each Saturday, as my pink tale of this weekend in Paris unfurls. It's gonna be fabulous, and if you want to join the Parisian pink tutu scene, then come on, let’s do this together!

Pink Tutu Moment -

I can't resist a good Parisienne fashion moment, even in a Eurostar carriage, and this little number has to be shared.

*This outfit was ALL about my pink tutu. Now, let's be honest, the pink tulle doesn't quite fit the traditional EuroStar carriage scene (especially for a long journey!), so I wore it with black leggings and a blush pink sweater for a chic and comfortable look. A touch of whimsy with an air of sophistication! The ballet flats, well, they're pretty much a "Pink Tutu" staple. They *do make it a lot easier to take a flying leap from the carriage if I ever feel the need to break out some impromptu "Ballet Street" on the EuroStar – though I’m not planning on causing any delays, darling! **

But seriously, what I love about wearing my tutu on journeys is the fun, playful energy it adds to everything. People smile! A little girl on the train saw my tutu and grabbed her mom's hand. Her face was lit up with wonder. I know it might seem silly to some, but wearing a pink tutu is my way of adding a bit of magic and joy to everyday life.

The Best Things In Life Are Pink!

…and yes, even train rides.

Saturday 2007-08-25 – Pink Parisian Adventures

I'm feeling absolutely Parisian today! It's the kind of day when even the clouds seem to have a Parisian je ne sais quoi. We’re still on the same date here, so you'll just have to indulge in some delightful day-long French dreaming with me, darlings! And of course, no Pink Tutu Paris weekend is complete without some chic outfits!

Look 1 – Bonjour Cafe

I think it's pretty much a Parisian rite of passage: the cafe stop – you just can't have a trip here without taking a croissant or a macaron break! It’s the kind of day where you just have to savour every sip of coffee. Today I wore my Parisian pink tutu dress for the occasion. This tutu is absolutely perfect for strolling down Parisian streets and peeking into adorable little cafes!

The Parisian pink tutu dress was the key! Imagine the ultimate feminine, delicate look: a dress made of fine pink tulle that fluffed out and flowed with every step. You just can't wear anything else when strolling down cobbled Parisian streets. This pink tutu dress was the perfect choice to take in the sights and sounds while feeling totally chic!

I completed the look with a black blazer and classic white blouse. The black and white provides a lovely contrast, making the pink pop even more! This was my Parisian 'going to town' outfit!

The Details That Make It Sparkle:

It’s all about adding those little finishing touches, darling! The key here is to embrace those whimsical accessories! A blush-coloured ribbon woven around my wrist, a dainty pearl necklace and ballet pumps with a touch of blush pink (again, so Parisian, you see!), to add some girly elegance. And, for good measure, my pink ballerina handbag to match my tutu. Yes, it really does add some sparkle!

Look 2 – Pink Tutu Elegance for Ballet Opera

Now, let's talk ballet! It’s one of those nights that I'll always cherish. This evening was all about seeing the Ballet Opera at a wonderful theatre on the Rive Gauche. This wasn’t your average ballet show. Oh, no. It was the kind that you can tell, right from the moment you enter the theatre, has an amazing backstory and some of the most passionate ballerinas, singers and actors I've ever seen!

Of course, a pink tutu was essential to this ensemble. I've had my eye on this gorgeous pink ballet tulle skirt for weeks, and I think it absolutely matched the atmosphere of this unique theatre. My look for this occasion is an absolute favourite: a delicate tulle ballet skirt, a deconstructed black chiffon blouse, my little pink bolero (and so Parisian!), pearl-beaded ballet shoes, a touch of shimmery eyeshadow and of course, the obligatory pink tutu for that signature “Pink Tutu Paris“ look.

And did I tell you? It all came with a touch of magic! Because when I stepped onto the stage to perform, everyone just went crazy with excitement. It’s the kind of magical night you get at ballet, isn’t it, where everything is just perfect?

A Parisian Waltz for “Pink Tutu Blog Paris"

We can’t have a pink tutu blog in Paris without a special Parisian waltzing scene, darlings, can we? Imagine: Cobblestones under your ballet slippers and a glorious, swirling tutu skirt! You just can’t beat a pink tutu on the Champs-Élysées or taking a turn with a French waiter at a little cafe.

You have to admit, Paris makes everything feel so enchanting. Every corner you turn has the promise of some hidden romantic secret waiting to be unveiled.

I love the atmosphere in Paris, and, as I stroll around with my pink tutu in tow, I’m always noticing something beautiful: The way the light dances on the Seine, the warm welcome in every patisserie… I just want to dance down every avenue and make my pink tutu skirt spin!

Fashion and Inspiration

What can I say, I am hopelessly romantic! Every Parisian store and boutique seems to speak to my soul. But let's get back to those outfits and how they fit in with the overall "Pink Tutu" experience, right? For me, fashion isn’t just about looking good – it's about expressing a mood and celebrating that fabulous feminine vibe that every pink tutu wearer embraces.

When it comes to Paris, I’ve learned to take my cue from the beautiful buildings. They all have such an architectural elegance and style. It's all about creating a mood, darling. Think delicate silk scarves, Parisian beret hats, vintage shops and that effortless, chic elegance that just makes you want to smile and spin!

My Parisienne Inspiration: A Look For The Ages

I feel so much creative inspiration pouring from Paris. My Pink Tutu Style is ever-evolving! So I thought it'd be nice to dedicate one of my pink tutus to a real Parisienne fashion icon!

So, to channel my inner Audrey Hepburn, I put on my delicate blush-pink tutu, paired it with my classic, black little dress (with my Parisian hat, of course) and a pair of ballet shoes. It was almost like I had a private meeting with Audrey, just me and her, strolling through the most magical places.

Every Tutu Tells A Story

Every Pink Tutu, you see, has its own history, its own adventures and its own story to tell! My Paris tutus are so much more than mere items of clothing - they're an essential part of my travel journal.

Let's just say they have danced along the cobblestone streets, twirled across the Champs-Élysées, and waltzed with the locals!

Let’s Not Forget My Ballet Debut

I don't want you thinking my Parisian adventures are only about clothes and shops! Oh no, my darling readers! There is nothing quite as thrilling as stepping onto a stage in a Parisian ballet theatre! There’s an energy and excitement, a vibrancy that you don’t find in any other theatre around the world!

After the most divine evening at the Ballet Opera, my feet started twitching. Oh, there's nothing better than a bit of movement on a stage, is there?

The next day I did a wonderful performance in a small theatre in the Marais. It’s a ballet that just seemed made for my pink tutu - a classical, whimsical piece with graceful movements and elegant twirls, oh, the possibilities!

The applause was so lovely; a Parisian ballet performance has its own kind of grace and applause. You just have to see it to experience it.

And then there is that unique way the lights hit your tutu! In every light, there is another layer of magic; I was dancing beneath the sparkle of the stage, in Paris, surrounded by this exquisite energy and, my darlings, the pink tutu, it just felt magical.

My French Pastry Experience (Don’t Forget The Macarons)

It would be criminal not to give my French Pastry obsession its own special section! I love it so much - and I feel like Paris just has something in the air that adds an extra deliciousness to their boulangerie, pastries and chocolate creations! I can already taste the delectable richness of that melt-in-your-mouth chocolate gateau and the delicately crumbly textures of a croissant …Oh my! I really must start with the macarons, my favourites – they just bring back the memory of Paris instantly, a delightful explosion of pink and fruity sweetness!

This Is Paris For You!

So here’s my Parisian adventure for you! I’ve added all the key things that make Paris so extraordinary for me: Fashion, tutus, a touch of magic, incredible shows and enough French pastries to satisfy the sweetest cravings! So I’m saying goodbye for now, darling readers! Until next Saturday!
