Pink Tutu Blog - Paris: Post 402
Bonjour mes chères amies!
It's Saturday morning and I'm finally in Paris! I know, I know, it took me long enough! It's not like I can just jump on a plane and poof be here, is it? Nope, this girl is all about style and travelling the old-fashioned way – with a touch of sparkle. So, I packed my cutest pink tulle bag, my lucky ballet shoes, and took the EuroStar, sipping on a cup of tea, admiring the countryside, and dreaming about all the incredible things awaiting me in the City of Lights!
This is my very first time in Paris, and I am positively buzzing! I'm already in love with the cobbled streets, the quaint cafes, and the charming architecture. Honestly, everything is just... dreamy! I swear, the air here is infused with magic. And what better way to experience the magic of Paris than in my signature pink tutu? It's a perfect way to bring a bit of Derbyshire sunshine to the streets of the capital.
I'm staying in a little hotel near the Louvre. It's all twinkly lights and old-world charm with an amazing balcony that overlooks a cobbled street – perfect for taking pictures, don't you think? Honestly, my room is a work of art! I can't resist spending a little time making it picture perfect, as you'll see when I post pictures on the blog later this evening. And just you wait – I've planned some absolutely fantastic photo shoots with my tutu!
So what have I done today, you ask? Let's rewind a little…
The Parisian Delights:
Le Petit Déjeuner - I kicked off the day with the most decadent breakfast I've ever experienced. My hotel had the most adorable little cafe tucked away in its courtyard, and let me tell you, they know their croissants! They were like little clouds of buttery goodness, perfectly flaky and melt-in-your-mouth delicious! And you haven't lived until you've had a cup of French coffee. They certainly don't skimp on the caffeine!
A Trip to the Musée d'Orsay: - Now, let me tell you, my day got even better when I stumbled upon the Musée d'Orsay. You know I love me some Impressionism! And oh my, this place is bursting with the most beautiful pieces by the greats like Monet, Renoir, and Degas! I practically felt my creative spirit swelling with each brushstroke. I'm sure you can tell I'm a big art enthusiast - just like you, dear readers, and I adore ballet. I always try to make time for ballet when I travel, because I like nothing more than immersing myself in the grace, beauty, and artistry of this dance.
A Moment with Monet: - Imagine this, ladies - a charming little park in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, bursting with vibrant colours! This little park housed Monet’s beautiful ‘Water Lily Pond’ which was simply breath-taking. It was a tranquil oasis in the midst of a bustling city, where I felt I could simply sit and enjoy the moment – lost in a symphony of water lilies, sunlight, and reflections. Oh, the beauty!
Le Louvre: - What Parisian trip would be complete without a visit to the Louvre? It was absolutely teeming with people but, of course, I braved the crowds to get a glimpse of the Mona Lisa - my personal mission of course, was to see if she truly did have a smile in her eyes - she seemed to have a very impassive look to me! It is no wonder that the Mona Lisa is so iconic - I loved seeing it for myself! It truly is a must-see for every visitor to Paris.
The Seine at Sunset: - Of course, my Parisian adventure couldn't end without a romantic stroll along the Seine, admiring the cityscape as the sun painted the sky in hues of pink and orange - no need for a sunset dress as you could call me the "walking sunset" already, in my Pink Tutu, and with the soft hues in the sky reflecting off my dress.
And let me tell you, dear reader, this is only day one! Paris is truly a city for lovers - whether it be of art, food, culture, or a touch of magic, which is certainly something you get when you visit this magical city.
I promise to tell you all about the next few days and my fashion finds in my next post – but in the meantime, please do tell me what your favourite place in Paris is - leave your comments below and let’s chat!
Au revoir, mes chères amies!
Yours in Tutu & Pink,
Emma
