Pink Tutu Blog: Paris - Post 404

Bonjour mes chéries!

It’s Emma here, and today, I'm positively bursting with Parisian energy! It’s Saturday, which means it’s time for another post from my Pink Tutu Blog: Paris Edition!

This week, my dear friends, I ventured across the Channel on a glorious EuroStar journey! It truly is the most wonderful way to travel – it’s quick, comfortable, and so very chic, especially when you're wearing a pink tutu! (Naturally, I couldn't resist a little twirl on the platform in my darling ballet-inspired ensemble. After all, one must maintain the poise, you know!)

Paris is always magical, but I must say this trip holds a special place in my heart. Today, I experienced a delightful blend of fashion, performance art, and a sprinkle of whimsy. It was a simply splendid day.

Fashionably Parisian

It all began in the City of Lights. Stepping off the EuroStar, I found myself immersed in a tapestry of fashionable Parisian delights. And trust me, I was absolutely enthralled! The street style was divine! There were bold colours, chic accessories, and oh, so many amazing outfits. I practically did a pirouette with joy at every corner.

Paris is such an inspiring place for someone like me, with its tendency toward artistic and expressive fashion. I’m not sure why but this Parisian attitude seems to perfectly fit with pink tutus - it is somehow totally natural and understandable here. There was one adorable boutique on rue Saint-Honoré which caught my eye with its windows overflowing with vibrant dresses and tulle skirts! It had the most amazing pink sequined cardigan – the kind of item that can make any tutu outfit complete. Let’s just say, I might have indulged a bit.

It’s true, the streets of Paris are like a runway! The stylish locals, with their effortless Parisian flair, are all a source of inspiration for my own Pink Tutu Style and it was amazing to simply absorb their elegance! But the highlight of my day came later…

Under the Parisian Stars

The day wasn't just about shopping; it was also about performance art. That’s what I do, after all! And so, as dusk began to settle on Paris, casting the city in a golden glow, I made my way to the iconic Opéra Garnier for a breathtaking performance.

I absolutely adore opera houses – there is something incredibly special about stepping into a space rich with history and culture. You can practically feel the presence of countless ballerinas, singers, and composers who graced its stage over the years. And the building itself, with its opulent architecture and beautiful decorations - it really is quite magical. I made sure my Tutu was appropriately Parisian in the softest shade of pink with tiny black details and tiny black diamante shoes to add a hint of extra sparkle.

Tonight, however, the theatre held something particularly magical in store - the Paris Opera Ballet's performance of Giselle. I can’t tell you how much I love Giselle – the choreography is so delicate, the emotions so moving, and it showcases a ballerina's beauty and strength so perfectly. I mean, it's not just about twirling and leaps, though the dancing was just astounding! I also have to mention the most exquisite costumes! I especially adored the sheer tulle gowns with lace accents – so utterly romantic! The scene where Giselle takes flight into the ethereal realm as a spirit of the forest was breathtaking - it was the perfect mix of drama, passion, and grace.

The show, of course, was an unforgettable experience. I absolutely fell in love with every delicate gesture, every flowing movement. And it reminded me, yet again, that I am passionate about sharing the joy and elegance of ballet with the world. I even noticed a few pink tutus in the audience - what a truly special sight! It seems my aim in life might be within reach!

I sat with my heart soaring and, let's be honest, feeling completely mesmerized, dreaming of twirling across the stage under the lights of the Paris Opera Garnier one day myself. Even though I was only watching from the stalls this time, I felt like I was dancing with Giselle myself! That's the magical thing about ballet, it transports you to another world.

Pink Tutu Adventures Await

So here's to pink tutus, Parisian charm, and an evening under the stars! This little adventure was all I could have asked for - and then some! And it only makes me want to experience even more of Paris’ beauty, fashion, and artistry.

What will my next Paris adventure hold, I wonder? What shops will I discover, what delicious foods will I devour? What performances will I witness, what beautiful Parisian sights will take my breath away? And will I, by some lucky twist of fate, spot some more fellow tutu enthusiasts? I can't wait to share my upcoming explorations with you, my dearest Tutu-lovers! Stay tuned, dear friends, there are more magical moments awaiting us in the City of Lights!

Until next week,

Emma xo

P.P.S I just received the most wonderful package of handmade tutu fabric! It's a soft, blush pink with sparkly pink dots and some pretty sequined pink butterflies. I have so many ideas about how to create some truly enchanting tutus. Just you wait, there's a little bit of magic headed your way soon!

P.P.P.S I must mention the delicious croissants at the patisserie near the Louvre – I definitely indulged a little more than usual this trip! It’s always a good time when you can combine croissants, ballet, and Parisian shopping all in one trip!
