Pink Tutu Blog - Paris: Post 430

Bonjour mes chéries!

It's Emma here, your favourite pink-tutu-wearing ballerina, back from a whirlwind trip to the City of Lights! Paris, oh Paris, how I adore you! I can’t believe it’s been a whole week since I landed on your cobbled streets, feeling like a true Parisian princess in my new tulle skirt, complete with a touch of Parisian chic, of course.

This week's post is going to be a little extra special, a true love letter to this beautiful city, a city that just about beats London in the beauty stakes (shh, don't tell the Queen!)

So, grab a glass of something sparkly, sit back, and let me whisk you away to the magical streets of Paris, my friends, with this little tale of my adventures.

From Derbyshire to Paris by EuroStar: A Chic Departure

As a true lover of all things train travel, the EuroStar is my absolute favourite way to get to Paris. A comfortable journey through the countryside, with delicious sandwiches, a glass of fizz (don’t judge!), and an abundance of exciting magazines and French novels to get my travel mood on. What more could a girl want? This time I wore a fabulous hot pink tutu, naturally, with my chicest coat over the top and, just a small sprinkle of Parisian glitter in my hair – you never know who you’re going to meet on the Eurostar!

The Eiffel Tower: Pink Tutu Style

Now, where does a ballet girl go when they first arrive in Paris? Why, the Eiffel Tower of course! And did I choose a predictable tourist outfit? Oh, my dears, absolutely not! I wore my favourite blush-pink tutu (naturally), teamed with my favourite sparkly pink bomber jacket, and my newest pair of silver, ankle boots. You know, just in case I ran into the actual Prince Charming of my dreams. You never know!

The tower was even more magical than I could have imagined. A glittering beauty against the Parisian sky. My pink tutu was practically buzzing with joy. We climbed all the way to the top, me spinning like a happy little twirling ballerina. Every Parisian street we could see looked like something straight out of a dream.

French Delights and a Ballerina’s Dinner

Of course, no Parisian trip is complete without a gourmet meal or two! This time, I decided to try a new and exciting place: Le Café du Bal. Talk about charming! This restaurant is just brimming with Parisian chic. I took a moment to reflect on my journey, and what I had seen so far, while indulging in a delicious mushroom risotto (I may or may not have accidentally worn the same tutu as my first day!). But hey, when it's perfect, it’s perfect, right?

I ended my Parisian food extravaganza with the most exquisite crepe in a tiny little street café – with a perfect cup of hot chocolate (you know, for that little bit of comfort, even in the chicest of French cities). It was an absolutely divine and romantic evening!

Le Marais & Montmartre: A Whirlwind of Parisian Chic

Next morning, I ventured out on a day of exploring the Marais and Montmartre neighbourhoods. Let me tell you, these areas are as charming as the old bookshops they're full of. I fell in love with every street corner. In Montmartre, I wandered through a stunning ballet shop - a treasure trove of tutus, leotards and shoes, even better than my own ballet studio, back home! I even picked up a new pink satin dance shoe for my collection.

In the Marais, I took my first street-ballet lesson ever, outside on a square next to a café! And I’m delighted to report that, thanks to my trusty pink tutu and my enthusiasm for dance, the other girls all joined in, so I wasn’t alone! It felt wonderful to just let loose, and join in, without needing to even take my shoes off!

Backstage at the Opera Garnier: A Ballerina’s Dream

This weekend’s trip wasn’t just about croissants and cafes, though! As you all know, ballet is my lifeblood, and in Paris, there is truly no place better to catch a performance than at the legendary Palais Garnier. This Saturday, it’s Giselle, the story of a peasant girl with a tragic love affair! For a ballet fan, this place was heaven on earth. The grand stage, the elegant chandeliers, the rich red velvet seats – everything was perfect, even my sparkly, pink tutu perfectly complemented the ornate design of the opera house.

While watching Giselle unfold on stage, I couldn't help but think about my own life. All the sacrifices and dedication it takes to pursue your dreams. It’s hard to know when to give up on something that’s already given you so much, but when a chance to learn more arises…well, that’s what we are here for, right?

As the lights came up, my tutu practically sang with joy! My heart was buzzing. I walked away from this ballet experience with a renewed determination to give it all my energy – no matter what life throws at me next!

My Final Thought

Paris truly lives up to its reputation as the city of love. The sights, the food, the energy… it's all so vibrant and inspiring. The cobblestones feel like a stage waiting to be twirled on, every corner whispers of artistry. You truly can't help but fall in love with this incredible city.

So, don’t forget your tutus, my dears, and always remember, with a sprinkle of sparkly pink magic and a dash of courage, you can achieve anything!

Don’t forget to check back here next Saturday for another blog post full of Parisian loveliness. And feel free to pop by and share your own Paris stories in the comments below. I love to hear from all of you!

Until then, Keep dancing and keep sparkling!

**Love,

Emma**
