Oh là là! My darlings, Paris! I'm back in the City of Lights for my favourite annual escapade - a week in Paris, in my very own pink tutu, naturally! I know, some might say it's a little flamboyant for Paris, but for me, it's my passport to an even more exciting adventure. I truly believe the only thing more beautiful than Paris, is Paris with a splash of pink tutu!
I took the EuroStar over - the fastest way to get here! It was a whirlwind of sleek silver trains, Parisian music and a delicious French croissant that felt more like a warm hug than a breakfast pastry. So utterly civilised! You know me, I never miss an opportunity to add a touch of whimsy, so I decided to wear a blush pink tulle tutu over a crisp white shirt. My favourite shade of pink against a stark white was a truly Parisian style combination, if you ask me! And I’m certainly not afraid to stand out!
Now, you all know how much I adore a good performance - especially in Paris. The sheer energy of the city makes everything, even watching the street performers, more vibrant. This Saturday, a group of buskers with violins and an accordion had gathered outside a quaint cafe. They were playing French folk music, which immediately transported me to a romantic bistro in a storybook. And, just imagine my delight, one of them was wearing a lime green tutu! She spun around in a circle with the other musicians and there was even a man dressed in a sequined red coat who joined the performance with tap dancing moves - It was pure Parisian chaos, I adored it!
The thing about Paris, you can go from seeing the Eiffel Tower twinkling at night, one of the most romantic sights in the world, to finding an enchanting and unusual display of Parisian artistry in the most unexpected places. The beauty and creativity is all around you in this city, which is something I will never tire of seeing.
So, what have I got planned for the next seven days? I shall be embarking on some serious exploration of Parisian shopping, of course! You know how much I love finding vintage clothing. I am going to hunt down that unique pink beret to complete my French look, and then I plan to delve into the Parisian fashion houses to see what delights await! But, let’s not forget ballet - the real heart of Paris. I am absolutely going to see “La Bayadère” at the Palais Garnier - what an iconic Parisian ballet, and an even more iconic theatre!
Later today, I’m heading to my ballet class, dressed in my classic white leotard and pink tutu, of course! There is nothing like being a part of the ballet community, surrounded by dancers who understand my love of the form.
