Pink Tutu Blog Paris - Post #446: A Day in the City of Lights! 🩰🗼

Hello my darlings, and welcome back to Pink Tutu Blog Paris! This week, we’re whisking you away to the most magical city in the world: Paris! As I always say, it’s a tutu good time, and this trip has been simply divine.

This week’s post is extra special as I finally got to experience the thrill of travelling to Paris on the EuroStar. Honestly, you can’t beat that magical feeling of travelling through a tunnel, then emerging into a land of romance, pastries and all things beautiful.

But first, let’s rewind back to last Saturday…

A Derbyshire Girl’s Journey to Paris

Paris always feels like coming home, like a sweet hug from a dear old friend. And let me tell you, there’s nothing quite like seeing the Eiffel Tower peek through the window of the EuroStar. It’s just as magnificent as you always imagined, it makes my heart skip a beat every time!

This trip was a little different, I’d actually been to Paris just a few weeks ago with my troupe to perform at the Theatre du Chatelet, it was divine! This time I'm here for pure, unadulterated pleasure! Just a little "Emma time" to soak up the Parisian magic and recharge those ballet batteries before I head back to the UK and prepare for the autumn performance season.

What a Saturday

And what a way to spend a Saturday in Paris! I kicked off the day with a delicious breakfast, the croissant was flaky perfection, dipped in café au lait for an extra dreamy touch! I knew it was going to be a glorious day!

A Walk to Remember

A gentle stroll along the Seine always sets my soul alight . The Parisian atmosphere is simply enchanting, from the street musicians strumming beautiful melodies to the* couples lingering* by the water. Oh, and don’t even get me started on the flower sellers and their pastel pink roses. It's like walking through a painting.

The Magic of Montmartre

Next, I hopped on the Metro (after buying a very pink Metro card - a must-have souvenir for any serious Parisian pink enthusiast!) and made my way up to Montmartre, that whimsical, enchanting little district. It felt like stepping into a scene from Amelie!

Montmartre is just bursting with art and charm - from the famous Sacré-Cœur Basilica to the quaint little shops selling handcrafted gifts, I felt utterly inspired! I just had to get my picture taken with a fluffy white dog wearing a pink tutu! And of course, the view of Paris from the hilltop is absolutely stunning, you can even spot the Eiffel Tower twinkling in the distance!

Haute Couture Happiness

For a Parisian girl like me, a day simply cannot be complete without some indulgent shopping. I am totally in love with the Parisian fashion scene! From the iconic fashion houses on the Champs-Élysées to the quirky, vintage boutiques in Le Marais, Paris has it all.

I fell head over heels for the most beautiful pink dress, it was a silk dream in the softest shade of rose and it simply screamed Parisien chic! It had just the right amount of tutu-inspired frills and of course, matched my pink ballerina shoes perfectly. (My love affair with shoes - that's a blog post for another day!)

Under the Parisian Stars

Later, I took a relaxing stroll along the Seine. I stopped for a glass of wine (a little something to enhance that Parisian glow, you understand!) and then, I found myself sitting in the Luxembourg Gardens, soaking up the magic of the French evening while the stars were beginning to glitter in the night sky. This is the real Paris! This is where my inner ballerina dreams begin to soar.

Dance Performance Dreams

And speaking of ballet, you know that I couldn’t go to Paris without visiting one of its beautiful ballet theaters. On July 12th, the Opera Garnier was hosting "Le Lac des Cygnes" (Swan Lake)! Just thinking about those exquisite costumes and stunning sets gives me the shivers. I am so grateful to be part of the ballet world, it truly is magical, especially in cities like Paris.

Don’t Forget to Wear Pink!

Paris has definitely renewed my enthusiasm for all things pink and tutus. Don’t forget my dear friends: Wear pink, embrace the tutu life, and don’t ever let anyone tell you that your dreams are too big. And until next week's blog post, remember, it’s always tutu good to follow your dreams, darling!

Lots of Love,

Emma 💕
