Pink Tutu Travels: Paris, Je T'aime! (Post #447)

Bonjour mes chĂšres ballerinas! đŸ©°

It’s Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to the City of Lights, Paris! It was just the most incredible experience, a complete dream come true. And, of course, I couldn’t have gone without my trusty pink tutu! It felt like the perfect accessory for exploring all the magical Parisian sights.

This was my first time venturing to Paris by Eurostar, and what a journey it was! The whole experience felt like a scene out of a movie. Gliding through the countryside at incredible speed, and the scenery just melted away outside my window. I practically spent the whole time gazing out and daydreaming about all the amazing adventures I’d have in Paris! I highly recommend taking the Eurostar, especially if you’re a fellow tutu-wearing travel enthusiast! The pink tutus, in fact, seem to love a little train journey
 who knew!

I arrived at Gare du Nord and was greeted with a bustling city filled with the sweet scent of freshly baked bread. It felt instantly familiar, like a place I’d known for years, but with a distinct Parisian flair! It didn’t take long to spot a quaint little cafe on the street corner, where I had the most divine pain au chocolat (two of them, if you’re wondering!) – perfectly crisp and with the sweetest filling, a taste of pure Parisian magic!

A Ballet Extravaganza at the Opéra Garnier

My first priority? Seeing a ballet show, of course! It wouldn’t be a trip to Paris without experiencing the world-famous OpĂ©ra Garnier. You can just imagine how thrilled I was when I learned that on the 19th of July (my trip was so perfectly timed!), the company was performing a spectacular adaptation of “Don Quixote.” I found a fabulous vintage lace dress (couldn’t resist!) to add to my ensemble, and I even incorporated some chic touches of pink to complete my outfit! The moment I entered the grand opera house, I felt transported to a different world. It was simply magnificent, adorned with dazzling golden statues, shimmering chandeliers, and a velvet-lined theatre.

The performance was simply stunning, the dancers swirling through the stage with breathtaking grace and athleticism. Their costumes, with their vibrant colours and intricate details, were just as captivating as the dancing. I had a tear in my eye (it’s okay, sometimes even a pink tutu sheds a happy tear!) – it was just so incredibly powerful.

Of course, the trip wouldn’t be complete without a little shopping spree, so I decided to spend some time wandering through the charming streets near the OpĂ©ra. It felt like a fairytale - a blend of Parisian charm and timeless elegance.

Shopping, Style, and Parisian Flair

The highlight of the trip, in my opinion, was discovering the incredible vintage boutiques in Le Marais. I discovered a whole new world of unique pieces, and the ladies working in these hidden gems are absolute treasure-troves of vintage fashion knowledge.

You just need to see this delightful little scarf I managed to find, made of silk, hand-painted with intricate details. I knew I had to bring it back to Derbyshire as a reminder of my adventure! Oh, and I can’t forget to mention the pink tulle dress I bought at the cutest shop tucked away in a courtyard! I just knew it had to come home with me, its romantic pink frills swirling around my legs like the delicate steps of a ballerina. It felt like a tiny touch of Paris to bring back to England.

The little boutiques I found in Le Marais, each with its own character and treasures, gave me so much inspiration. There was this one, full of floral print fabrics, another one specializing in perfectly vintage brogues and chunky heeled boots, and this darling little boutique bursting with velvet and lace garments. Each shop was a tiny portal into different fashion worlds!

It was quite a day in Paris, I tell you, with the opulence of the ballet, the captivating sights, and a shopping trip filled with treasure. I was exhausted by the time I crawled into bed, and you know what? It was the best kind of exhaustion, the type that makes your soul smile!

I promise you, if you’re ever considering a trip to Paris, put it at the top of your to-do list! I can’t wait to go back soon! I’m already planning my next Parisian escape, which I can't tell you about right now – it's a little secret for the time being!
