Pink Tutu Travels: Paris - Post #483
Bonjour, darlings!
It's Emma here, writing to you live from the most magical city in the world, Paris! I'm so excited to finally be here, my pink tutu twirling with joy as I sip my latte (pink sugar, naturally) and soak in the Parisian atmosphere. This trip is all about the magic of ballet, fashion, and everything sparkly – what else could a tutu-loving girl ask for?
This week, my Parisian adventure is a little different to my usual ballet escapades. This time, instead of travelling by trusty Derbyshire train to a performance in Sheffield, I swapped my train journey for an exhilarating EuroStar journey – my first Eurostar experience, and it certainly didn't disappoint. Whizzing through the Channel Tunnel felt like a scene from a ballet – a powerful and dramatic rush of movement. My heart did a little pirouette with every surge of the train.
As I disembarked at Gare du Nord, I knew I was in for a Parisian treat. The city felt alive, the air buzzing with an intoxicating blend of elegance and artistic energy. Paris always holds a special place in my heart - the city where ballet is celebrated, fashion is an art form, and everything is oh-so-stylish. It’s like a fairy-tale setting where I can lose myself in dreams of swirling tutus and dramatic entrances.
My very first Parisian outing had to be to the Musée du Louvre. The museum is massive, overflowing with magnificent masterpieces from across history, each one whispering its own story. I stood captivated before the "Venus de Milo," imagining the goddess stepping onto the stage in a dazzling pink tutu, a stunningly beautiful tableau. But it was the iconic "Mona Lisa" that truly stole my heart. For me, this captivating smile and mischievous eyes embody the Parisian spirit – confident, independent, and always with a twinkle of mischief. I imagine "Mona" enjoying a pink tutu too – she'd certainly make it look amazing.
Of course, no Parisian adventure is complete without indulging in the delicious treats of French cuisine. This afternoon, I indulged in the most delightful macarons. They were as pink and pretty as I imagined, with a sweetness that danced upon my taste buds. My very favourite, a delightful pastel pink delight, burst with flavours, and felt just like a performance on my tongue.
Now, I’m off to explore some more of Paris’ hidden treasures. I've discovered the cutest pink boutique near the Champs-Élysées, a store that embodies the Parisian flair - a pink paradise for any girl who dreams in tutus. I imagine it must be the exact place Coco Chanel found her inspiration. I plan to come back to buy the perfect little pink ballet skirt for my evening’s performance.
Stay tuned, darling. There's still so much to see, so many delicious cakes to taste, and so much pink to discover! I'll be posting again next Saturday, with more Parisian adventures and a dash of ballet magic.
Until next time,
Emma

My Pink Tutu Diaries: Behind the ScenesAnd here, in my online diary, I want to share with you, my wonderful readers, some of the behind-the-scenes of my Parisian adventure. Today’s blog entry feels different than my usual ballet performances – not only have I switched from stage to street, but I'm trying a new approach too.
Fashionable FunRemember how I was telling you I wanted to share more of my outfits with you? I know it can be tricky finding the right kind of outfits for ballet performances that still look classy and chic. I've also been a little scared of trying a new style for a while now - but here in Paris, I'm taking the plunge.
Since arriving, I've spent so much time trying new outfits. The key to this whole process? Pink, darling, and even more pink. The streets here are bursting with colour, but my focus is on delicate pastels – pale pinks, rose tones, and shades of baby pink – and my little tutu, of course! They add such a delicate feminine touch, which complements the elegant Parisian spirit perfectly. I want to be elegant, confident, and a little mischievous - a little like "Mona Lisa", I guess.
My pink ballet skirt from that amazing pink shop I found yesterday is perfect. A little less tutued, much more practical and easy to wear around Paris. I found a cute rose coloured beret, so this afternoon, I walked along the Seine river, enjoying the sunset, feeling quite a stylish Parisian - I mean, beret and pink ballet skirt, what's not to love?
My outfits also need to work for my ballet classes and rehearsals too. Of course, they need to be practical, comfy, but chic and elegant at the same time. Here in Paris, the ballerinas at the school I'm dancing at, are always wearing the most exquisite outfits. Not only does my tutus need to be beautiful, but they need to fit with my Parisian style too. So, you'll see a lot of delicate colours, beautiful silk and sequins – and of course pink tutus too.
On Stage, On ScreenAnother secret for this Parisian trip - it's for a big new project! The French production company who created "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert", which is, for anyone who doesn't know, the best show ever! It's full of fun and excitement and, I hope, one day, they'll put on a pink tutu.
Anyway, I can't really say much yet, as it's all top secret, but it's a performance that celebrates all things glamorous. The show will travel to major cities across Europe - which I am super excited about! It will be fun trying to see which city looks most glamorous in pink. I will keep you all updated, promise.
In the meantime, keep those tutu requests coming in, darling! I'm always on the hunt for ways to spread the love for ballet and for a little pink! Maybe Paris will be the city where I get to see a whole city of pink tutus? Who knows! Now, to get ready for my Parisian show tonight, I think my rose-toned skirt with my pink tutu is just the ticket!
Au revoir!
Emma
