#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post #484 - Saturday 2009-04-04: Parisian Pas de Deux with a Side of Shopping!

Bonjour from the City of Lights, my lovelies! It's Emma here, back with another installment from #PinkTutuBlogParis, and this time, I'm waltzing straight into your hearts (and inboxes) from the magical streets of Paris. Oh, how I adore this city! It's just overflowing with creativity, romance, and the most incredible fashion that sends my heart aflutter!

This weekend, I packed up my signature pink tutu (can you ever have too much pink?!), grabbed my trusty travel case overflowing with dancing shoes, and hopped on the Eurostar to whisk myself away to this Parisian dreamland. This week's performance had been a roaring success - those pirouettes certainly paid off! (And yes, I managed to fit in a few extra hours in the dance studio too). You know me, always a workaholic in the most glamorous way!

After a wonderfully comfortable journey, my little pink heart was instantly captured by the chic ambiance of Paris Gare du Nord. It felt like a scene out of a film ā€“ grand chandeliers, chattering Parisians, and a beautiful mix of stylish folk dressed for every occasion. Of course, my arrival outfit included the signature pink tutu - itā€™s always an ice-breaker! It even caught the attention of a lovely French woman who complimented me on my choice. "Tres jolie!" she said. Now that made my day!

The first order of business in Paris? Well, you guessed it, shopping of course! Thereā€™s something about Paris that brings out the shopaholic in me. The clothes, the fabrics, the colours - it's like a whirlwind of sartorial brilliance. I went on a hunt for some cute accessories to spice up my outfits.

Outfit Alert!

For today's adventures, I went with a whimsical ensemble ā€“ a classic black tulle tutu with a cute pink floral blouse, a black cardigan to combat the springtime chill, and, of course, my signature cherry red ballet flats (they go with absolutely everything)! My pink glitter clutch was a delightful accessory that added that extra bit of je ne sais quoi. Oh, and the piĆØce de rĆ©sistance? A dainty pearl headband - perfect for Parisian charm.

The first stop on our sartorial pilgrimage was a darling little vintage boutique hidden away in the Marais district. I unearthed a stunning antique brooch shaped like a ballerina ā€“ I had to add that to my collection! A touch of Parisian whimsy for my trusty tutu. It also reminded me that fashion isn't about fleeting trends, itā€™s about making statement pieces your own.

I spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the shops on Rue Saint-HonorĆ© - Iā€™m not even going to mention how much I spent (donā€™t tell my accountant!), but I canā€™t wait to show you all my new acquisitions on social media.

But shopping wasn't all - Paris, as you know, has a million things to see and do! So after our retail therapy session, I decided to embark on a mini treasure hunt of some of my favourite landmarks.

First, I danced my way to the Arc de Triomphe for a perfect shot - this magnificent structure never fails to inspire awe in me! I felt so grateful to be able to experience the grandeur of the Parisian cityscape, its architecture echoing a history that stretches back for centuries.

The sun began to set as I made my way to the iconic Eiffel Tower. Thereā€™s truly no place in the world that can compare to the Eiffel Tower, bathed in the soft glow of twilight. This city was simply radiating romance.

Before I knew it, the night had fallen and I was preparing for the piĆØce de rĆ©sistance of my trip ā€“ the ballet performance. This evening was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience: a production of 'Swan Lake' at the exquisite OpĆ©ra Garnier. Itā€™s an incredible, ornate theater. The dancers were breathtaking, their movements fluid and powerful. As always, I found myself deeply moved by the beauty of dance. Every twist, every jump, every leap spoke volumes without a single word being uttered. It was an emotion I couldn't capture with words; I had to just feel it.

To Tutu or Not to Tutu?

Oh, and did I mention? Itā€™s a tradition of mine that every visit to Paris involves wearing my tutu in public ā€“ a Parisian adventure is not complete without it. Even the chicest cafes, most exquisite art galleries - I proudly donned my pink tutu, with the message ā€œEmbrace the Pink Tutu Spirit!ā€.

As I gazed at the incredible cityscape from the OpƩra Garnier, my mind wandered, wondering if I had successfully spread my pink tutu message today. And then I looked down and saw it: another ballerina, wearing a pink tutu and smiling at me. We locked eyes, a connection forming over our shared passion, and we both burst into laughter. It felt as though all of Paris had become a stage, where everyone was an actor and every day an opportunity for something special to unfold.

My love for dance keeps my world moving, my life vibrant, my mind forever dreaming. It takes me from Derbyshire, England to the glittering streets of Paris and beyond. But itā€™s the spirit of sharing and the passion for creating something beautiful that makes this journey worthwhile. Until next week, remember to keep those pink tutus close and keep your spirit of adventure alive!

Until next Saturday!

Lots of Love, Emma
