Pink Tutu Paris: Bonjour from the City of Lights! (Post #500!)

Hello darlings! It's Saturday, and you know what that means... It's Pink Tutu Paris time! Today's post marks a special occasion: it's my 500th Paris post! Can you believe it? Five hundred magical adventures in the City of Lights, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

So, where do I start? Well, let's just say this trip started with a flurry of pink feathers. After all, what's a Paris adventure without a touch of sparkle? I boarded the EuroStar from Derbyshire in my favourite new pink tutu - a confection of layers and tulle, perfect for catching the train and for a chic arrival in the Parisian Gare du Nord. You know me, I just can't resist a bit of theatrical travel!

As the EuroStar whizzed through the countryside, I couldn't help but be completely overwhelmed by the excitement building within me. It's the little things, darlings - like the delicious scent of croissants wafting from the buffet car, and the way the sunlight dappled through the train window. Honestly, I swear the French countryside looked extra-lovely as I envisioned my Parisian adventures.

Arriving in Paris always feels like entering a storybook. There's just a magic in the air. And that air always feels like it’s filled with the most divine pastry and perfume smells. Once I reached my darling little hotel tucked away in the chicest part of the 7th arrondissement (a tiny secret hideaway near the Eiffel Tower - shh!), it was time to get changed into something a bit more... practical, for a whirlwind afternoon of sightseeing.

Now, I wouldn't be a true Pink Tutu girl if I wasn't a bit of a fashionista! Of course, my wardrobe for this Parisian adventure had to be on point! We're talking classic Parisian chic with a little Pink Tutu flair! You know - the kind of style that makes heads turn but also allows you to seamlessly blend in with the fashion-forward Parisians. We're talking tailored trousers paired with whimsical blouses, chic vintage cardigans that could easily be dressed up for an evening performance, and of course, a dash of sequins - you know, just to add that touch of "je ne sais quoi". Oh, and naturally, I packed a selection of pink tutus – the perfect accessory for a chic yet playful stroll around the city. The beauty of Parisian style, darlings, lies in the unexpected touches.

I am, after all, an aspiring ballerina with a deep love for ballet in all its forms, so, you can guess what was on my list today. Paris always seems to be full of stunning performances and events that fuel my passion for ballet. So, naturally, a little Parisian ballet experience was absolutely on my itinerary. Today was all about a performance by the beautiful ballet company, “L’Opéra de Paris.” I was transported to another world – the dancers, graceful and powerful, truly embodied the magic of ballet. Their steps, the incredible costumes and the gorgeous music of the orchestra… well, it really left me utterly captivated.

My darling little journal is full of sketches from this performance! Some may be a little chaotic and full of scribbled notes but just a bit of artistic whimsy, as I’m definitely no artistic prodigy - more of a pink-tutu-wearing creative enthusiast.

After all that dancing, my tastebuds were positively screaming for Parisian treats! Luckily, Paris offers a little taste of heaven on practically every corner. For my post-ballet-show sweet tooth fix, we made our way to the Marais for a selection of incredible pastries – and let's just say it wasn't hard for my eyes to meet a beautiful and impossibly delicious pain au chocolat or a decadent, raspberry-filled éclair. And of course, no Paris experience is complete without the most gorgeous, fresh fruit, so, of course, a delicious bowl of ripe strawberries was absolutely essential for this particular pink tutu afternoon.

It's not just the ballet that inspires me here in Paris - the whole city is a beautiful blend of architecture, culture and Parisian elegance. That elegant and timeless charm simply radiates, and it is something that truly inspires me. You see, that's what Paris does – it kindles that inner spark, reminding me that dreams are real, especially when a pink tutu adds a touch of whimsy!

Of course, a Parisian escapade just wouldn’t be complete without a spot of shopping! Oh, the thrill of browsing through the incredible designer boutiques and discovering hidden vintage gems tucked away in the cobbled streets – pure delight! It's truly like stepping into a stylish fairytale, filled with designer frocks, elegant accessories, and irresistible vintage pieces, each more gorgeous than the last. Paris truly has a special way of drawing you in with its charm. And I simply had to indulge in a little shopping spree, picking up some new vintage accessories to elevate my Pink Tutu look. What is a trip to Paris without the purchase of a delicious Parisian handbag and a pair of those incredibly elegant, high-heeled shoes?

One of my absolute favourite Parisian discoveries on this trip? A tiny little ballet boutique. Tucked away on a quiet side street, this little shop was a treasure trove of delicate pink tutus, whimsical ballet shoes, and accessories - I swear, it felt like stepping into a pink and fluffy wonderland! Oh, it's no surprise I left with two adorable ballet dresses in a mix of pale pink and the most beautiful ivory tulle – they will make fantastic outfits for my next Parisian adventures. Of course, one cannot simply be in Paris without embracing a certain “je ne sais quoi” - you have to look the part, even when shopping for tutus!

So there you have it, darling. Paris is still Paris: breathtaking, magical, and bursting with excitement and opportunity, for this ballet-loving pink-tutu girl, at least. Oh, and a quick reminder: Don’t forget to wear a pink tutu, my darlings, for a sprinkle of whimsical charm!

See you next Saturday for another Paris adventure!

Emma xoxo
