Bonjour, my dearest Pink Tutu followers! It's Emma here, and this week I'm writing to you from the most magical city in the world - Paris! Can you believe it? I've finally made it to the City of Lights, and let me tell you, it's everything I dreamed it would be and more!
This is post number 541 for my Paris blog - and you know I always post once a week, every Saturday, right here on www.pink-tutu.com! If you're new to the Pink Tutu world, I'm Emma, a twirling ballerina from Derbyshire, England, and I'm living my dream of sharing my passion for all things pink, pretty, and ballet with the world!
So how did I get here? Well, I caught the EuroStar from London, and oh my, what a fabulously comfy way to travel! It felt like a fancy floating palace with views of the English countryside rushing by outside. There’s something so elegant and romantic about travelling by train, wouldn’t you say?
You’ll probably be asking yourself, how can Emma, a simple ballerina, afford all this fabulous travel? The truth is, my dear followers, I work incredibly hard! I fund all my adventures through performing, both with ballet companies and street and theatre performances, so you know I have to keep my tutu spinning and my performance game on point! But all the hard work is worth it when I get to experience magical moments like this Parisian escapade!
Speaking of magical, this city truly is a fairy-tale wonderland! The streets are lined with enchanting cafes, shops overflowing with the most delightful fashion treasures, and, oh, the architecture! My little heart feels like it's bursting with excitement just walking around!
Fashion, Fashion, Fashion!
So, obviously, my first mission in Paris was to do some serious shopping. You wouldn't believe the amazing outfits I found! There's a shop on almost every corner bursting with chic and elegant French fashion, and of course, I couldn't resist picking up a few little pink treats for myself! 😉 A gorgeous silk scarf with delicate embroidery, a chic pair of French pumps - just the right amount of heel to keep my twirls flowing, and a stunning little blush-coloured handbag with a cute miniature pink ribbon on the handle. Ooh la la, the Eiffel Tower! 🗼
You can’t visit Paris without taking a trip up the Eiffel Tower, can you? It’s so impressive. Seeing that majestic tower stretching up to the sky is awe-inspiring! And of course, it was all I could do to not burst out in a celebratory pirouette or two. My pink tulle skirt billowing in the Parisian air - perfection!
I also went to the Musée d'Orsay to gaze upon all the Impressionist art masterpieces, a must for any lover of all things creative!
Dinner and dancing...
One of my favourite Parisian evenings was spent dining at a charming cafe near the Louvre. The twinkling lights of the Seine River and the delicious Parisian cuisine made for such a romantic setting. But the best part? The live music that played softly in the background. I just couldn’t help myself - I got up and danced! Of course, with the appropriate pink Tutu and a touch of whimsical flair!
I made sure to watch the ballet at the Paris Opera House as well, of course, and saw the most beautiful production of Swan Lake, my personal favourite ballet, ever! Watching the dancers spin on that stage, in that breathtakingly beautiful theatre…well, I must admit a few tears of happiness may have fallen.
Finding pink bliss… everywhere!
As you know, I can find a little pink bliss in even the most unexpected places, and Paris certainly didn’t disappoint.
Imagine this… Walking along a charming cobblestone street and stumbling upon a street performer who starts to play a beautiful tune. The soft melody fills the air as I join the crowd. Everyone gathers around, and in that moment, a lovely woman in a fluffy, pink tulle skirt joins the performer, and they start to dance! It was like a scene out of a Parisian dream! I even managed to convince a couple of the gentlemen nearby to try a waltz in their suits, the girls were loving it.
Oh, and just yesterday, while shopping in a local boutique, I came across the most beautiful pink silk dress with the most exquisite embroidery – I had to buy it. It was perfect for strolling along the streets, feeling chic and elegant in my pink paradise!
Oh, Paris, you steal my heart…
There's just something so magical about Paris, the culture, the charm, and the beautiful French spirit. And what better way to capture all of that loveliness than through the lens of my trusty pink camera?
Of course, I can't share all the beauty and magic of Paris with you in this blog post - this city just has so much to offer! But I hope this post has at least inspired you to discover it for yourselves! I promise, my dearest readers, if you find yourself in the City of Lights, you'll find yourself completely swept away by the beauty and charm, especially if you wear a pink tutu!
