#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post 543 - Saturday 2010-05-22 - Bonjour, mon chérie!

Hello darlings! I'm writing this from my hotel room in Paris, overlooking the Seine, feeling utterly thrilled and ready for an utterly glamorous weekend of pink-tastic Parisian adventures.

As you all know, Paris is just so very magical for a ballet-loving gal like me. It's the city of love, yes, but it's also the city of ballet! The energy is absolutely intoxicating, and I've been bouncing around the city like a sugared-up ballerina.

This week I took the Eurostar from London, and oh my goodness, what a gorgeous journey! I spent most of the time glued to the window, watching the countryside fly by. It was just like something out of a storybook. And let's be honest, the Eurostar just makes travel so much easier. I even got to sip some delicious French champagne - just how a pink tutu-wearing traveller deserves to be treated!

And now, on to my adventures! Saturday's are the perfect day to be exploring Paris, with all the boulangeries and cafes just begging you to stop in for a pastry or two (which, of course, I couldn't resist).

Firstly, you must all know I love a good performance. Last night I saw the most divine ballet show at the Théâtre du Châtelet. It was a stunning, traditional performance with gorgeous costumes and beautiful, heart-melting dancing. They even had a scene where the ballerina twirled right across the stage in a delicate pink tutu - talk about girl-power inspiration!

This afternoon I'm planning to explore the Montmartre district - it's famous for its bohemian vibe and it's just the sort of creative space I find myself utterly inspired by. I’m so excited to browse through the art galleries, watch street performers and perhaps catch a performance at the iconic Moulin Rouge - one of my very favourite haunts. I imagine it would look absolutely fantastic in a bright pink tutu.

No visit to Paris is complete without a little bit of fashion inspiration. Later tonight I’m heading to the Marais for some window-shopping, but with a serious side of pampering. My aim is to find the most exquisite vintage shop – maybe even one filled with feather boas and sparkly sequins – then find the perfect little Parisian café with outdoor seating, indulge in some decadent pastries, and watch the world go by. It’s the ideal Parisian day if you ask me.

The Big Pink Tutu Question

My lovely pink tutu devotees, this week I’m particularly excited to pose a very important question.

How about this? Why don't we all dress up in our favourite pink tutus for the week and share a picture online? It would be just like the tutus themselves - soft, whimsical and fabulously fun. Share your snaps on social media, don’t forget to hashtag #PinkTutuParis so we can all celebrate the colour, and the sheer joy, of tutus.

Speaking of tutus, you just have to come along to one of my upcoming performances. Next week I’ll be dancing in a magical ballet at the Derbyshire Arts Centre - just a little way from where I grew up - and I promise you, the pink tutus will be out in full force!

Remember to follow me on all social media - it’s all @PinkTutuBlogParis - and visit www.pink-tutu.com. You can also send me any requests you might have, any performances you might have seen, or even just some gorgeous pictures from your week. I want to hear it all!

This is Emma, signing out from Paris with love, lots of tutus and even more love for this most wonderful city! Until next time!

Bisous! ###
