#PinkTutuBlogParis - Saturday 2010-06-12 Exploring Paris

Bonjour from Paris! #PinkTutuBlogParis

Hello, darlings! It's Saturday, 12th June, 2010, and this is post number 546 on www.pink-tutu.com, from yours truly, Emma, bringing you all the latest from the City of Lights!

As a lifelong fan of all things French, Paris has been a dream destination for me, and the moment the EuroStar pulled into Gare du Nord, I practically skipped off the train. There was something truly magical about arriving in this city of love and fashion, and knowing I was going to be spending a whole week exploring it, all dressed in my favourite pink tutu!

Honestly, who wouldn't want to wander the cobblestone streets of Montmartre, admire the grandeur of the Louvre, and perhaps grab a croissant (or three) all while wearing a delightful pink tutu?

I do love the ease of travel by train. I popped over from Derbyshire in the morning and was sipping coffee and watching the French countryside whizz by. A little tip for all you lovely readers: I highly recommend the window seats on the EuroStar, they offer fantastic views! I mean, a scenic journey in a luxurious carriage, how much more stylish could it be?

Of course, I funded this whole trip myself with the usual array of ballet performances! You can see, there's no stopping a pink tutu-wearing girl with big dreams and a passion for the dance! This time I managed to get a spot in a local community production of "Swan Lake," and oh darling, it was spectacular! They all thought it was rather peculiar when I went on stage for the curtain call sporting my pink tutu! The other ballerinas just giggled! I even managed to get the crowd going with a little impromptu pirouette during a quick change. There's a lot of you can do in a pink tutu, that's for sure!

Now, to make this Paris trip even more sensational, I planned a week of theatre performances, shopping, and just soaking up the Parisian energy. What is Paris without a sprinkle of theatrical brilliance, am I right? Today was the day I had been looking forward to most, darling, a special performance at the Opéra Garnier, an absolute dream come true for any ballerina. This incredible building, all adorned with gold leaf and dazzling crystal chandeliers, is almost too beautiful for words. And, what better to see than "La Bayadère" ? An exotic tale of love, betrayal, and beautiful ballet, the costumes were magnificent. I don't think I stopped smiling the entire performance.

After the curtain call, it was straight off to Les Halles for a spot of retail therapy, of course! It seems I’m destined for a very French look, a beautiful dress that is just perfect for strolling around Montmartre on Sunday, some very charming heels, and a chic black coat for when the weather turns a little more chilly. The hunt for the perfect beret is on, though I’m rather partial to the black felt kind with a big pink feather! And what is a visit to Paris without a touch of Parisian style?

After a delicious supper of escargots (well, the thought of snails had me giggling!) and steak frites at a delightful little café on Rue Montmartre, I took my usual nighttime walk, this time through the heart of Paris. Just imagine the romantic beauty! Paris lights twinkling around me and the night air alive with music from buskers and a hint of jasmine.

Right now, it’s back to my little Airbnb, which is perfect for the pink tutu vibe! Pink linen bedding! Oh, and my own private balcony looking out onto a little courtyard… dreamy.

Remember, my lovely followers, spread the pink tutu joy! It's not just a piece of clothing; it's a state of mind, a symbol of happiness and confidence!

Keep sparkling!

Yours in tutus,

Emma
