Pink Tutu Blog Paris - Post #554: Bonjour from the City of Lights! 🗼

Well, darlings, here I am again, this time in the fabulous City of Lights, Paris! As you all know, I adore travelling, and after all those breathtaking performances at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe (what a whirlwind!), I simply had to hop on the Eurostar and escape to Paris! I do love a good train journey – all that glamorous whizzing through the countryside – and there’s just something magical about travelling by rail.

I couldn't wait to step onto Parisian cobblestones and immerse myself in all the sights and sounds this beautiful city has to offer. Honestly, it's like a scene straight out of a fairytale!

The French, of course, are renowned for their chic and effortless style, and my tutu-loving heart was fluttering with excitement at the prospect of soaking up the fashion scene. I just know I'm going to be completely inspired!

Oh, before I forget, let me show you what I'm wearing: a lovely light pink, slightly ruffled tulle tutu – a touch of romantic whimsy for a city known for its romance. It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Blog post without a dash of pink, would it? 🩰

So, this week, we're taking a stroll down the boulevards, enjoying the sights, and I've got a very special Parisian ballet experience in store! More on that later!

Day One: The Eiffel Tower, Pink Cocktails, and Fashion Dreams

We arrived on Thursday afternoon – talk about a whirlwind of excitement! The Eurostar whisked us straight into the heart of the city, and before I knew it, I was gazing up at the iconic Eiffel Tower, glittering like a beacon in the sunshine. It's simply stunning, all that elegant ironwork reaching for the sky!

After we checked into our charming hotel – a petite Parisian haven with floral wallpaper and an utterly delightful balcony – we set off for the Champ de Mars, where the Eiffel Tower stands. It's the most magical place!

Just look at those photos! Doesn’t the Tower look divine, especially with its backdrop of the stunning Parisian sky? And of course, no trip to Paris is complete without a climb to the top, or in my case, taking the lift.

Speaking of heights, our journey didn’t stop there. As the sun began to set, we made our way to a chic rooftop bar where we enjoyed the most decadent pink cocktails – just the perfect ending to a spectacular Parisian day. Honestly, my heart was brimming with Parisian bliss! 💖

Now, if you think my first day was packed with fun, get ready for the crème de la crème.

Day Two: The Musée d'Orsay and the Seine River Cruise

Day Two was all about the quintessential Parisian experiences – and oh my, what experiences they were! First, we wandered through the glorious Musée d'Orsay, a treasure trove of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art.

Now, darling, you all know my penchant for artistic expression – that's where all the inspiration for my ballets comes from, and my eyes were practically popping out of their sockets as I admired the sheer beauty of Monet's water lilies and the movement and vibrancy of Degas' dancers. The Musée d'Orsay is definitely worth a visit. It was a true feast for the soul and, in my opinion, it’s the ultimate inspiration for aspiring artists, dancers, and fashionistas alike. 🎨

After that incredible art immersion, it was time for some Parisian glamour. We took a leisurely Seine River cruise – and let me tell you, it was pure Parisian romance! Imagine gently floating down the river, watching the sun paint the Parisian sky in hues of gold and lavender, while the Eiffel Tower twinkles against the backdrop. It was like something out of a dream!

And speaking of dreams, did I mention how much I love Parisian street style? I spotted so many effortlessly chic looks as we cruised along.

You all know my secret weapon for a Parisian-inspired outfit – a simple, pink tutu! It’s always an instant statement! The magic of Paris? It just has a way of inspiring, making you want to embrace your inner artist and dance! ✨

Day Three: Shopping, Sweet Treats, and Ballet Bliss

After days of taking in the sights, it was time to embrace the shopping mecca that is Paris! We visited Galeries Lafayette – a veritable temple of luxury and a place to let your fashion dreams soar. There’s something truly special about Parisian fashion – that delicate blend of classic elegance and understated chic.

After all those Parisian boutiques, we needed to indulge in a bit of Parisian sweetness, and oh my, we found a delightful patisserie that took my breath away. My mouth is watering just thinking about the perfectly crafted macarons – a delectable kaleidoscope of colours and textures.

I’m really all about sharing this joy. You just can’t help but feel inspired, relaxed and a little bit magical as you sink your teeth into the sheer decadence of Parisian treats. You just know those pastry chefs put their hearts into every single morsel. I almost didn’t want to finish them!

But after all that deliciousness, I was craving something a little more exhilarating, and what could be more Parisian and inspiring than a night at the Palais Garnier, home of the renowned Paris Opera?

That evening, we went to see the La Bayadère – a beautiful story about love, loss, and destiny. The ballet was captivating, and I was truly entranced by the graceful ballerinas, their costumes, and their movement.

Oh my, it truly was breathtaking!

I even managed to snap a photo with one of the beautiful ballerinas after the show – isn’t she lovely? She had the most enchanting smile!

And you know me, I couldn’t help but think of how I could create a similar, inspiring ballet performance, one that is captivating for the audience, and one that shows the essence of what ballet means to me – grace, power and beauty.

As the applause echoed through the grand Palais Garnier, I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of excitement for my own ballet performances. It just reminded me how powerful dance is, and how it connects us to the emotions and stories in a way nothing else can.

The next morning we were back on the Eurostar, whizzing through the French countryside back to London, our hearts full of memories.

And remember, this was only a taste of all that Parisian magic we discovered. But one thing is certain: my time in Paris had given me a new appreciation for art, fashion, and life in all its captivating beauty.

I always say that travelling opens your eyes and soul to the world and helps you see things from a different perspective – I know you're all thinking this trip just fueled my creativity for the new dance season ahead. You’re right, you are!

You’ll be seeing a little Parisian sparkle in my upcoming routines and I can’t wait to share that magic with all of you. But don’t worry, it’s still going to be all about the tutu – pink tutus, of course, because why wouldn’t it be?

Paris, darling, you were a dream, and I know I'll be back! 💖

Next Week: The Big Reveal – My Next Dance Season, Coming to a Stage Near You!

Until next week, don't forget to keep those twirls going and to live your life with a touch of pink and a whole lot of passion! 💖🩰
