Paris, Mon Amour: Pink Tutu Adventures in the City of Lights! #572
Saturday, December 11th, 2010
Bonjour, mes amies! It's Emma here, fresh from a whirlwind trip to Paris, the city of lights, love and – you guessed it – tutus!
This weekend's adventure was especially exciting because I took the EuroStar, the swish bullet train from London to Paris. Now, if you've ever been on the EuroStar, you'll know it's like being in a sleek, speedy, futuristic world where even the snacks are served in chic little boxes. And of course, I made sure I wore my very best pink tutu, naturally! It was my go-to for feeling fabulous while I journeyed through the Channel Tunnel, my ballet bag clutched in my other hand.
Speaking of ballet, that's the magic fuel that keeps me travelling the world and sharing these Pink Tutu adventures with you all! As you know, I fund these trips by performing at various theatres and galas. The other week, I danced "The Nutcracker" at the Royal Albert Hall – a truly magical experience. There’s nothing quite like feeling the applause and knowing your performance has made someone’s night. It’s my way of spreading a little joy and reminding the world how much beauty ballet can bring to their lives!
Anyway, back to Paris. The moment I arrived at Gare du Nord station, I felt a buzz of excitement. The air itself felt charged with the electricity of Parisian life. The first thing I noticed, of course, was the fashion – Parisiennes are effortlessly stylish, wearing outfits that wouldn't look out of place on a catwalk. And while I love experimenting with fashion myself (the bigger the pink tutu, the better!), I've learned to appreciate the subtle artistry of Parisian fashion, too. Less is more, as they say.
Our first stop? A beautiful little patisserie, tucked away in a side street near our hotel. A classic croissant and a cafe au lait - a Parisian dream come true. After a quick freshen up, we were ready to embrace the city. We started our journey near the Louvre Museum, walking along the Seine, stopping to take in the views. Of course, my tutu had its own spotlight as people admired my Parisian style!
Later in the afternoon, we indulged in some classic Parisian shopping – oh the clothes! You know how much I adore browsing for pretty pieces and finding unique treasures. The shops in Paris are bursting with exquisite fabrics, stylish boutiques and delicate lace details. My heart skipped a beat when I saw the prettiest pink tutu – a delicate confection that made me think of twirling beneath the Eiffel Tower. It was definitely destined to join my collection!
Later that evening, we enjoyed a delicious meal in a charming restaurant, followed by a beautiful show. Tonight’s treat was a Parisian classic – “Le Sacre du Printemps”. We witnessed the dramatic movements and the powerful music - it was truly moving! And guess what? I even spotted a tutu on stage! Ballet always takes my breath away and in a city as beautiful and vibrant as Paris, the experience felt extra special.
Paris, for me, is the embodiment of artistry, style and romance – it’s the city that has captured my heart and ignited my passion for exploring the world! As you all know, one of my biggest dreams is to encourage everyone to embrace their inner ballerina, no matter their age or shape. It's about embracing the power of self-expression and reminding yourself to never lose that spark of joy.
Until next week, darlings! Don't forget to visit my blog, www.pink-tutu.com, to read more about my Parisian adventures. Remember, wear your tutus with pride and embrace the power of pink!
Au revoir!
Bisous,
Emma
