Pink Tutu Travels: Paris, Ooh la la! #582

Bonjour mes amies! It's Emma here, and this Saturday, my Parisian adventures continue! This week, the Pink Tutu has taken flight aboard the EuroStar - that gorgeous train, hurtling through the Channel Tunnel, leaving dreary Derbyshire behind and bringing me to the City of Lights, the ultimate ballet wonderland! I simply adore the EuroStar - it feels like a travelling fashion show! All those Parisian chic outfits, perfect hair, the stylish businessmen, the excited tourists – and of course, the Tutu-clad me, ready to conquer Paris with a flurry of tulle and sunshine smiles.

Today is Saturday, February 19th, 2011, and I'm already knee-deep in the enchanting Parisian life. Yesterday, I strolled along the Champs-Élysées – a glittering wonderland of glamorous shop windows showcasing the most beautiful couture outfits and the perfect spot for people-watching. Every Parisian woman looks so effortlessly chic, like they just stepped off a fashion magazine. And you know what I noticed? A few subtle pink hints here and there – a touch of pink lipstick, a delicate pink scarf, and even a glimpse of a ballet dancer's pink shoes, making me believe the pink tutu message is starting to reach even the French fashion elite!

After my Champs-Élysées adventure, I headed straight for Galeries Lafayette, a wonderland of everything beautiful, where I finally succumbed to a beautiful pair of blush pink ballet shoes with satin ribbons that tied around my ankles. It was just like the kind Cinderella would wear, only these shoes were much more elegant, thanks to their exquisite craftsmanship. I couldn’t resist buying a little pink beret as well, just because!

My evening started with the magical, vibrant colours of the Eiffel Tower – a pink cloud-covered sky perfectly framing its majestic form. It was like stepping into a romantic ballet scene! The tower glistened against the evening sky and its golden hues cast a warm glow over the Seine River. Just as I was lost in its fairytale beauty, I stumbled upon a quaint street theatre performance! It was a charming ballet with whimsical costumes, and the dancers danced with such incredible grace and precision that it just took my breath away! It felt like watching the Parisian heartbeat in motion, graceful, light and elegant – just like the pink tutu I believe we all need in our lives!

Speaking of the pink tutu – I did not fail to spread the word about my beloved dancewear on the cobbled streets of Paris! I saw an excited group of girls – teenagers probably – with brightly coloured dresses and trendy clothes and managed to convince them to pose with me for a "Pink Tutu Parisian Selfie." They giggled and agreed. After all, everyone knows the pink tutu is a symbol of fun, confidence and a little bit of magic! And Paris is the perfect place for some tutu magic.

Now, for my dinner – the quintessential Parisian experience. Imagine tiny, quaint Parisian streets, cobblestone alleys, a romantic candlelit bistro, and the most mouth-watering crème brûlée you could ever dream of! That's what this Parisian evening has been about – savouring the exquisite tastes and the romantic ambience. As I finish this blog, sipping my hot chocolate and planning my adventures for tomorrow, I can’t help but feel happy that I chose to be here. Paris is the ultimate ballet-inspired destination! There's just something special about the French people and the city's vibrant arts and culture scene. I can feel it all buzzing through me, like the excitement before a big dance performance.

This Saturday in Paris was like one giant Pink Tutu ballet! And if this doesn't convince you to get on that Eurostar train and take your own Pink Tutu adventure, I don’t know what will! Until next week, my lovelies!

XOXO

Emma
