Pink Tutu Paris: Bonjour from the City of Lights! (Post #595)
Bonjour mes chéries! It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad traveller, reporting live from the enchanting city of Paris! As you all know, Saturday means a new post on www.pink-tutu.com and this week it's all about the Parisian dream! I've arrived, suitcases overflowing with twirly tulle, my heart filled with excitement, ready to explore the City of Lights and inspire everyone I meet to join the Pink Tutu Revolution.
This trip's a little different for me, a real whirlwind of romance and excitement. I landed at Gare du Nord on the EuroStar â a wonderful train journey that filled me with the familiar magic of travel. I love taking the train, watching the countryside change as I whizz by. Makes me wish I had a carriage full of tutus flying with me! đ
But alas, I'm not just here for train adventures, though I have to say, riding the metro is like a magical ballet of flashing lights and swirling passengers! It's a total vibe! Paris is a city full of surprises, and I'm so excited to experience it all with a touch of pink tutu magic.
Speaking of pink tutu magic, my first stop after dropping my bags at the HĂŽtel du Nord was the Marais. Oh, the Marais! You could lose hours just strolling through the charming, cobbled streets, soaking up the unique atmosphere. I found the perfect little boutique filled with delicate vintage lace and floral prints, just perfect for a future pink tutu creation. Imagine a tutu adorned with these exquisite laces, wouldn't it be magnifique? I also fell in love with a charming shop selling artisanal soaps, scented with jasmine and lavender. Perfect for a little pampering before tonight's performance.
Because tonight, my darlings, is a ballet performance at the Opéra Garnier! I've got tickets to a special showing of "La Sylphide", one of the most beautiful ballets ever created, full of ethereal movement and breathtaking costumes. You just can't help but feel mesmerized by the grace of the dancers and the elegance of the performance. Can't wait to tell you all about it!
It's only Saturday and Paris is already a whirlwind of pink tutu possibilities. I'm seeing everything in a rose-tinted glow (literally!), and feeling absolutely inspired. I have a feeling I'll be back to tell you all about the Eiffel Tower, a trip to Montmartre, and even some delicious French pastry and coffee, a real "afternoon tea" moment!
Until then, let your inner tutu twirl with joy and dream big, my loves! Remember, you don't need to be in Paris to embrace the Pink Tutu Revolution, every day is a chance to dance your way through life! Stay tuned for more Parisian adventures, fashion finds, and hopefully some inspired Pink Tutu fashion moments.
Au revoir! Emma xx
Parisian Pink Tutu Day (2011-05-21)Paris! A dream in pink. The city practically oozes fashion, and my Pink Tutu heart is beating fast.
The Opera Garnier:
First stop, the Palais Garnier, the magnificent opera house designed by the iconic Charles Garnier. I am blown away! It's like stepping into a fairy tale with a pink tutu twist, its opulent architecture, glittering chandeliers, and stunning painted ceilings. They are magnificent! Itâs one of the worldâs most beautiful performance venues. Even though it is over a century old, it is immaculately restored with beautiful carvings and sculptures. They really paid attention to the details. I could have easily spent hours just admiring its majestic interiors.
Then the performance⊠well, "La Sylphide" took my breath away! The costumes, the ethereal choreography, the graceful movements, everything was so elegant and enchanting. I could picture myself on stage, my pink tutu swirling amongst the delicate ballet costumes, my heart full of Parisian charm. Maybe one day!
Afternoon Tea Parisian Style:
After the performance, I found a delightful café, just steps from the Opera Garnier. The ambiance was pure Paris: small tables outside, the sun dappling through the leaves, and a wafting aroma of coffee and freshly baked pastries. Of course, I had to have some. They say Parisian bread is the best in the world. And I'd agree. A delectable croissant, buttery and flaky, accompanied by a rich, aromatic cappuccino. This, dear readers, is true Parisian living!
The Eiffel Tower and the Champs-ĂlysĂ©es:
Later, I ventured to the Eiffel Tower. A must-do, right? The city stretches before you, a mosaic of pink and grey rooftops and charming avenues, punctuated by the twinkling Seine. I took in the breathtaking panoramic view from the top, twirling around and imagining the Parisian streets paved with tutus. Wouldnât that be something?
Then I wandered down the Champs-ĂlysĂ©es, a street fit for a queen or, better yet, a princess in a pink tutu! There's a stylish energy here, a vibrant blend of shopping, architecture, and people. From street artists to designer boutiques, you could easily get swept up in the whirlwind of Parisian charm. And my pink tutu was right there, blending seamlessly, catching every glance as it shimmered in the late afternoon sun.
My Parisian Shopping Adventure:
No trip to Paris is complete without a visit to some exquisite boutiques. I found a lovely vintage clothing shop, filled with delightful vintage dresses, charming accessories and oh so much pink! I could easily lose myself in that magical shop! But I needed to find something that was truly âpink tutuâ. A little search took me to an old tailorâs shop near the Palais Garnier where I found the most exquisite, vintage, French pink lace, perfectly beautiful and decadent. Perfect for adding that âsomething specialâ to a new tutu.
Paris, you are an absolute dream!
Until next time, Emma xx
