#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post #599: Bonjour from the City of Lights!

Saturday 18th June 2011

Oh, darling readers! How I’ve missed you! I do hope your week has been positively delightful, filled with pirouettes and a generous sprinkling of pink. Mine has been all about packing my tutu bag, finalising my Paris itinerary (oh, the sheer joy of choosing from such an array of artistic wonders!) and generally being positively giddy with excitement for my grand Parisian adventure!

After all, as any true #PinkTutuBabe knows, the French capital is the ultimate destination for ballet and fashion! And, moi, I simply adore a bit of both, sprinkled with a healthy dose of exploring those charming, cobbled Parisian streets.

Now, I’ve been daydreaming about this trip for weeks, so I’m going to do my absolute best to cram everything in - all those magnificent performances, the most darling boutique discoveries, the divine treats to be devoured and the simply breathtaking scenery that only Paris can offer.

Let me tell you, getting here on the EuroStar was practically a ballet performance in itself. You’ve never seen such chic ladies in the carriage – and their fabulous frocks, darling! Imagine a vision of elegant Parisian ladies dressed in their finery, chatting excitedly about their upcoming outings – oh, so inspiring!

I have to admit, I practically bounced the entire journey, so eager to start my Parisian ballet-athon. As soon as I saw the Eiffel Tower, my heart simply fluttered with joy, like a delicate ballerina dancing en pointe! It's just magical, I tell you!

Paris – Where Dreams Come True (and Tutu’s Twirl)

First things first, my dear #PinkTutuBabes – you've got to come and visit this enchanting city, especially if you’re a ballet aficionado. The Opera Garnier is beyond glorious, the grandeur and the beauty of the venue itself almost eclipses the ballet performance, and the Parisian Ballet are absolute superstars – they had me on the edge of my seat (or my ballet shoes) with their dazzling choreography!

A Pink Tutu Princess in Paris

Yesterday was a whirlwind of fabulousness. I even donned my best, bright pink tutu, it just seems appropriate in a city so overflowing with joie de vivre!

Of course, the shops have to be a top priority – how can a girl possibly resist those charming little boutiques spilling with designer treasures and vintage Parisian finds? And did I mention those delicious, dainty pastries? Mmmm! Paris is such a delightful feast for all the senses.

I must confess, dear reader, I did pick up a particularly gorgeous piece for myself – a silky-soft pink blouse with the most intricate lace detail - oh, so feminine and absolutely divine! And it just so happens to go perfectly with a hot pink tutu for the ballet!

Tonight, I’m off to see "Giselle", oh the excitement! I know I'll be completely swept away by the emotion of the story, the drama, the dancing – and just the sheer beauty of the entire performance. You know, even if I wasn’t a ballerina myself, I would still love it - it’s simply timeless, beautiful and completely captivating.

Bonjour and a Big Pink Kiss!

I can already tell, this is going to be a trip I'll never forget! I'm excited to share my adventures with you, dear readers, so be sure to check back here every Saturday for all the Parisian delights, tutu-inspired tips and my pink-tinted insights!

Until next week, stay bright and beautiful!

XOXO,

Emma
