Pink Tutu Paris - #610: Bonjour from the City of Lights! š¼
Well hello there my fellow tutu lovers! Itās your favourite pink-obsessed ballerina Emma, reporting live from Paris, the most fabulous city in the world! And believe me, I've been to a few (even Derby's got a certain charm š).
I've arrived in style, of course! The Eurostar whisked me away from my Derbyshire life in a matter of hours, which was actually a total blessing as my packing prowess is not exactly a strength (letās just say that half my luggage was filled with tutusā¦ It was for research, promise!). I do love a good train journey though; something about watching the scenery zip past with a book in hand, while wearing my signature pink tutu, just makes me feel super chic. The whole āEmily in Parisā vibes, only with more twirls!
Anyway, back to Paris. Itās just so... glamorous! You canāt walk ten paces without seeing a fashionista sporting a killer outfit, which gives me so much inspiration for my ballet street outfits! Iāve already found the perfect Parisian boulangerie just off the Champs-ĆlysĆ©es (because one can never have enough pastries!). The smell of fresh croissants as you stroll down the street? It's almost as divine as the feeling of dancing on pointes, I tell you!
This tripās already off to a wonderful start! I went to see "Le Corsaire" at the OpĆ©ra Garnier, last night and it was absolutely mesmerising! It had everything: incredible dancing, lavish costumes, and an amazing score that transported me to a different world. I swear, I got a little choked up by the ending. That powerful dance between the Corsair and Medora - just wow!
Speaking of costumes, my inner fashionista is seriously enjoying herself exploring the amazing Parisian shops. This weekend's already seen me lose a fair few euros in the chic boutiques around the Rue de Rivoli. I even scored the most adorable pair of pink ballet pumps - with ribbons! And I canāt even tell you the amount of tutus Iāve found in this city (some seriously pink-tastic designs, don't worry, I've documented everything!). I can just see the Instagrammable shots coming up already...
The good news for my pocket is that my travels are always funded by performing - and what could be better than twirling for your trip! I have a lovely recital this Saturday (oh how I love the thrill of the stage!), back at the studio back home, and then I'm getting back on the train for the next stop on my Pink Tutu adventure.
It feels strange not writing about Paris every week! But I promise that you won't have to wait long for the next post! Iām excited to tell you about what the next seven days hold, which includes everything from more ballet shows to shopping trips, French baking classes...and possibly even trying on some berets for size (though maybe not if it rains!)!
Stay tuned, tutu-licious friends, and remember: itās never too late to put on a pink tutu and dance your way through life!
See you next Saturday! Love, Emma xoxo www.pink-tutu.com
P.S. Did you know that the date I'm writing this blog post is September 3rd, 2011? This Saturday marks the 20th anniversary of the launch of my blog (yes, it feels like just yesterday!), which means weāre all still spreading the love of tutus and pink. Thank you to everyone for following my journey, it means the world to me!
