Pink Tutu Travels: Paris, Mon Amour! (Post #611)

Bonjour mes amies!

Well, here I am, back in Paris for the third time this year, and I can honestly say, the magic never gets old. There's something so intoxicating about this city - the beautiful architecture, the cobbled streets, the quaint cafes, the oh-so-chic people... and of course, the fashion! And speaking of fashion, can you believe I snagged this absolutely divine pink tutu at a vintage store in Le Marais? It's the most gorgeous shade of bubblegum pink, with the most delicate tulle. I couldn't resist twirling around in the shop, feeling like a proper Parisian ballerina!

This time I'm in Paris to see a truly magical show at the Opéra Garnier. Can you imagine? A production of "La Sylphide" with the Paris Opera Ballet! I've been waiting for this moment ever since I started learning ballet in Derbyshire as a little girl. The excitement is palpable, I just can't wait to be swept away by the beauty and grace of these talented dancers. I’ll definitely be posting all about it next week – think tutus, tiaras and an evening of pure ballet bliss.

But before we get ahead of ourselves, let's back up a little bit. This week's Paris adventure started with a delightful train journey. You know how much I love the Eurostar, don’t you? It's like a floating dream palace, whizzing you across the Channel to the City of Lights in record time. It's perfect for enjoying a spot of afternoon tea, catching up on a bit of ballet reading, and of course, people watching in my favourite pink tutu (how else to travel in style?).

Upon arriving in Paris, I immediately set off for a spot of afternoon tea. A bit of Parisian glamour with freshly-baked pastries and a pot of steaming Earl Grey, served by charming waiters in crisp white shirts. The perfect start to any trip to Paris! I was even lucky enough to find a table with a window seat overlooking the Seine, where I could watch the world go by and dream up new outfits to wear for the weekend. I must admit, I indulged in a cheeky slice of ‘Gâteau de Voyage’, a local speciality that's pure sugary heaven. My goodness, Paris is a place for delicious indulgence!

Saturday in Paris is about so much more than tea and cake, though! I wouldn’t be a true Parisian fashionista if I didn’t spend some quality time in the shops. This time around, my aim is to find some chic, comfortable footwear to wear with all those tutus! I’m thinking elegant ballerinas, stylish flats, or even some knee-high boots, because who can resist a little French flair? And for a little indulgence, a brand-new bag in a fabulous shade of… you guessed it, pink!

Of course, Paris is all about taking your time and embracing the slower pace. A stroll along the Champs-Élysées, admiring the elegant boutiques and the beautifully decorated window displays. I'm not ashamed to admit that I’ve already snapped quite a few pictures for Instagram - every view here is just too gorgeous not to capture.

Evenings are about embracing the vibrant Parisian atmosphere. Tonight, I plan on wandering around the bustling Latin Quarter. I've heard about the best falafel place there, nestled within a cute little backstreet. Later, maybe some delicious crepe from a street vendor and then perhaps a nightcap at a trendy bar. After all, what's a trip to Paris without a few cheeky glasses of vin rouge?

Speaking of cheeky glasses of wine, have you seen my new 'Paris in Pink' cocktail recipe? I whipped it up especially for you all, just to bring a little bit of Paris magic back to Derbyshire. You can find the full recipe on the ‘Pink-Tutu.com’ website this week - don't forget to add a sprinkle of pink sugar and a dainty pink ribbon to the glass for a true Parisian touch. I think it will go perfectly with your favourite ballet book!

Remember, Paris is a place that's best explored at your own pace. Get lost in the charming streets, chat to the locals, savour the delicious food, soak up the energy of the city and… just twirl. I think it's time for me to head out, I've already got my ballet shoes ready, so that I'm all set for a whirlwind weekend in this magical city. Oh, and let's not forget, wearing my brand-new pink tutu of course. Après tout, a tutu makes any Parisian adventure infinitely more magical!

Au revoir for now, I'll be back with another post next week!

Yours truly,

Emma xox
