#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post #622 - Exploring the City of Lights!
Bonjour mes chƩries!
This Saturday sees me perched atop a cafe table in the most beautiful city on earth, the City of Lights ā Paris! You just canāt beat Parisian charm, can you? From the cobbled streets to the elegant boulevards, from the twinkling lights of the Eiffel Tower to the stunning art deco architecture, I feel like Iāve stepped right into a fairytale. And, of course, no Parisian adventure is complete without a delightful pink tutu. My latest acquisition ā a shimmering tulle masterpiece with hand-beaded details ā perfectly reflects the romance and elegance of this city.
This week I boarded the Eurostar in Derbyshire and within a blink of an eye, I was transported to Paris. I adore the romance of train travel, with its whispering conversations, hushed melodies, and the promise of adventures yet to unfold. Honestly, thereās something magical about those winding railway tracks that take you to unknown, exciting places!
This trip has been all about embracing the magic of Parisian life. Iāve already strolled through the charming streets of Montmartre, inhaling the scent of fresh croissants and espresso, and taken a wander through the picturesque Jardin du Luxembourg, my pink tutu swirling in the wind, of course. Itās funny, but the French really do embrace the tutu. I havenāt received a single sideways glance! I think they understand that a pink tutu, like a Parisian baguette or a beret, is a symbol of joy and embracing the beautiful things in life!
Cultural Immersion - It's More Than Just the Food
One of my biggest loves in life is seeing shows ā be it ballet, opera, or even a street performerās captivating act. On Wednesday I ventured into the breathtaking OpĆ©ra Garnier ā imagine stained glass windows soaring high, lavish chandeliers glistening, and velvet seating that feels like a hug ā talk about grand theatre! That night, I had the pleasure of watching the Paris Opera Ballet perform āSwan Lakeā. Watching their graceful movements was captivating and the stage design was utterly spectacular. Itās no surprise they call this a magical city ā the ballet world really flourishes here, and it just fills me with inspiration!
From The Runway To My Tutu
You can't come to Paris without immersing yourself in the fashion scene, and thatās precisely what Iāve been doing! Iāve been hopping from boutique to boutique, my eyes twinkling like the city lights themselves. Imagine vintage Chanel, a little black dress with the most elegant detail, delicate lace, and an impeccable cut. A classic piece, one you keep for years, isn't it? Paris has so much to offer, from high-end fashion to street style, and the colours are phenomenal. Every day, itās like walking down a runway.
My favourite spot for unique Parisian finds is a vintage store on Rue de Seine. I picked up a pair of silk gloves and a beret with a jaunty feather. Can you even handle it? They match my new tutu perfectly, naturally! And wouldnāt you know it, while I was wandering the shops, I even stumbled upon a shop dedicated to ā you guessed it! ā pink tutus! Honestly, it was like a fairy tale! So of course, I bought another one ā I had to! Theyāre not just for ballerina practice you know, theyāre for living a happy and fashionable life!
The Flavours of Paris
My taste buds are experiencing pure Parisian bliss! So far, Iāve tried escargots (definitely not my favourite!), crepes ā oh the sweet, delicate loveliness, croissants still warm from the bakery ā the perfect flaky pastry, and the most divine chocolate mousse. Paris knows how to make you happy! Oh, and donāt even get me started on the macarons. My Parisian adventure wouldn't be complete without them. Letās just say they are colourful and delicious!
This weekend, my plans involve catching a performance by the Cirque dāHiver. Itās supposed to be an acrobatic masterpiece! Then, Iām planning to explore the trendy boutiques and cafes in the Marais district. You know, discover new Parisian secrets. My friend Sarah (who lives in Paris) has a wonderful apartment right near the Place de la Bastille, and we are planning to enjoy a cosy dinner in her gorgeous garden patio! This whole trip feels like a perfect fairytale. And I have my trusty pink tutu to thank for it!
So, if you ever find yourself in the City of Lights, remember this: Paris embraces the sparkle in you. Embrace your individuality, express yourself through colour, let loose your inner fairy, and of course ā donāt forget the pink tutu! Until next week, darlings, be happy, embrace lifeās adventures and be your beautiful, sparkly selves!
Au revoir!
Emma
