Bonjour from Paris, darlings! The City of Lights is truly sparkling today, and my heart is soaring just as high as the Eiffel Tower! It's Saturday, the 17th of December 2011, and I'm kicking off another Parisian adventure. I’m channeling the Parisian elegance in my pink tulle tutu, of course, because why wouldn't you, when in Paris?
You know me, I love to travel, and Paris holds a special place in my pink tutu-wearing heart. This week's journey took me through the Channel Tunnel on the EuroStar, one of my favourite ways to travel. It's like a magical, underground, fairy-tale express! I'm feeling the French flair already, and I'm eager to dive into all this city has to offer, especially when it comes to ballet and shopping.
Speaking of which, a new ballet shoe shop has popped up in my favourite arrondissement – a beautiful, little shop tucked away on Rue Saint-Honoré called "Danse d'Amour" with such an adorable name and equally gorgeous interior. It's crammed full of beautiful ballet shoes in every colour imaginable, including some fabulous pink ones! 🩰
As much as I adore the theatre and seeing performances, I truly miss ballet class. You all know how I feel, ballet is my soul food. Tonight, I'll be venturing out to see what delights are in store at one of my favourite ballet studios - “L’Atelier Danse". Maybe I'll join in! You just never know! But before that, there's some Parisian shopping to do, darling!
A bit earlier today, I started my shopping escapades, and you're in for a treat. I stumbled upon a little Parisian boutique on Rue de Rivoli, that sells the most incredible accessories. Think sparkly tiaras, dazzling crystal necklaces, and gorgeous velvet headbands, all designed to add a little touch of magic to your outfits! My heart went a-flutter and my pink tutu spun around with delight, naturally! 💖
Speaking of delightful things, let's talk about the delicious Parisian pastries! They're just as gorgeous as the city itself. I picked up some adorable éclairs and macarons this morning, all pink, of course! Who can resist those heavenly delights?
Paris has a magical atmosphere, especially in December. It feels like a dream with twinkling lights and the scent of chestnuts roasting, along with festive sounds and magical sights! I just love that quintessential Christmas atmosphere in this city - all the gorgeous Christmas displays and decorations, all of the street artists performing with their twinkling fairy lights and festive tunes! It's a beautiful thing! 🎄
For the rest of today, I plan to visit the beautiful Parisian sights - maybe a leisurely stroll along the Seine or a picnic with those yummy pastries and a good cup of hot chocolate. Later on, I'll be checking out the city’s Christmas market for the unique local delights, from crafts to gingerbread cookies and even some exquisite handmade decorations. It will be the perfect way to get my Christmas spirit roaring.
And then it's off to the ballet studio. I might even get a bit more Parisian-style ballet inspiration for a new tutu creation! 🩰
Now, I know you might be thinking "Why Paris, Emma? It's expensive, isn't it?" And you're absolutely right! I fund my travels, especially these Parisian jaunts, through ballet. You'll never guess my secret...
It's performances, darling!
Performing at special events, in charity shows, or at those lovely galas where everyone dons their sparkly gowns – that’s how I pay for these Parisian adventures! Ballet isn't just my passion; it's also my way of life. Every twirl helps me take that next trip, and it all contributes to this incredible, vibrant, exciting journey called "life!"
I think there’s a little bit of Paris in every girl’s heart - a little touch of romance and sophistication. But even if you can't be in the City of Lights, try to find that bit of Paris inside yourself. Put on your most stylish outfit (think sparkly tiara, ladies!), grab a delicious éclair (a pink one!), and maybe put on some lovely classical music and just dream... You’ll find that Parisian charm, you just have to look for it!
