Pink Tutu Blog Paris: Post 626 - A Christmas Wish for Paris (24th December 2011)

Hello, darlings! It's Emma from your favourite pink tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed blogger. Today, we're finally in Paris, and oh, how I've dreamed of this moment! Imagine my joy, darling, when the EuroStar whizzed me straight into the heart of this fabulous city! It was so chic, like something straight out of a fairytale - I could almost imagine Marie Antoinette joining me on the train with her little poodle, haha!

Of course, what would a Christmas in Paris be without the obligatory pink tutu? My cherry red tulle tutu, with its silver sequined bodice, was just perfect for the festive spirit. It felt magical, spinning around the bustling Gare du Nord station. The French travellers were all looking at me with envy, you could tell! My mission, you see, is to spread the pink tutu gospel, one swirling skirt at a time!

Now, darling, you might be thinking: What could be better than Christmas in Paris? Well, darling, I'll tell you, nothing! Especially when you've got a schedule packed full of wonderful treats. It was already Christmas Eve and Paris felt truly magical - I swear I even saw Santa's sleigh flying overhead as we got our tickets for the Eiffel Tower. The city felt like one gigantic, beautiful present, unwrapping itself just for me!

My very first stop was of course, the ultimate Parisian experience - a ballet performance at the magnificent Palais Garnier! The performance was breathtakingly beautiful - so full of graceful movements, captivating story, and that truly mesmerising magic that only a great ballet can produce! The audience was mesmerised and I'm certain, I saw some whispers about "that fabulous pink tutu" in the crowd, ahaha!

Later on, we indulged in the finest French treats, sampling delicate macarons in the most charming little patisserie just off the Champs-Élysées, a Parisian adventure with a little sprinkle of Christmas magic.

But that was not all, darlings! It's Christmas Eve and of course, there was some delightful window shopping at Printemps Haussmann - so many sparkling dresses and beautiful Christmas decorations! I just had to snap a photo in front of the gorgeous, dazzlingly decorated tree! The colours were divine and the aroma of Christmas was simply magical! It was hard to tear myself away!

Now, let me tell you a secret, darling - it wouldn't be a proper Christmas trip without a visit to the beautiful Notre Dame cathedral! We spent the afternoon wandering around this gorgeous monument, its gothic architecture soaring towards the heavens, truly a sight to behold. And I swear, darling, I even caught a glimpse of a lone, pink-tutu clad ballerina amidst the stained-glass windows! (It may have just been a figment of my imagination, darling, but my dear, Paris is a city where even the impossible becomes possible!).

To cap off our day of wonder, darling, we indulged in the finest French cuisine. Oh, darling, a feast fit for a Queen! Imagine the perfect French bouillabaisse with freshly baked bread, the mouthwatering crème brûlée and, of course, the most delicate Parisian pastries, accompanied by a beautiful glass of crisp, chilled Champagne. Ah, this is the life!

And let me tell you, darling, this was only day one of our Christmas Parisian escapade! Tomorrow, we are off on more exciting adventures! We'll be exploring the iconic Sacré-Cœur basilica, taking in the view from the Montmartre district, perhaps a visit to the Musée d’Orsay or the Musée du Louvre for some serious art appreciation, maybe even some last-minute Christmas shopping.

And you can be sure darling, there will be photos galore and even more pink tutus! So make sure you follow my Paris adventure next week on Pink Tutu Blog!

Sending love, sparkle, and plenty of Christmas cheer from Paris,

Emma xxx
