Pink Tutu in Paris! #PinkTutuBlogParis (Post #686)
Bonjour, darlings!
Emma here, ready to twirl you through another week of pink-tinted adventures! Today’s blog post is a Parisian dream come true, a veritable whirlwind of tutus, theatre, and of course, oh-so-chic Parisian fashion!
As you know, my trusty tutu has been travelling the world with me, and this week we’re off to the City of Lights! We zoomed through the countryside on the Eurostar, feeling like we were in a real-life fairytale. That gorgeous train carriage – complete with plush seats and complimentary coffee – just made me want to put on my best "ballerina-in-training" outfit (think chic black dress and matching tights, of course!) and practice my pirouettes all the way to Paris!
We landed in Gare du Nord, a beautiful old station overflowing with bustling energy. Even the Parisian air felt chic and exciting! Then came the magic of finding the perfect taxi. Oh, the French love affair with black and white! We zoomed through the Parisian streets, each landmark a perfectly framed shot of the Eiffel Tower or the Arc de Triomphe – truly an iconic ballet of sights and sounds.
Our hotel is tucked away on a cobbled side street in Montmartre, near Sacré-Coeur Basilica, that beautiful white church on top of the hill. It's quaint and romantic, perfect for escaping the Paris frenzy at the end of a busy day. I’ve got the most adorable balcony with the most stunning view of the rooftops, and of course, my tutu's hanging there, catching every Parisian ray of sunshine!
The day started with a visit to the Grand Palais, to see an exhibit on fashion history - my heart skipped a beat! It's like a step back in time, but with a distinctly French flair, think dazzling jewels, dramatic dresses, and of course, an array of fabulous fabrics! Oh, to be able to have just one of those gowns for my own! Maybe I'll try and design a tutus version one day! It would be divine!
For lunch, we went to a traditional French bistro – what else?! And I'll be honest, it was delicious. All those pastries and cheeses, served with the most divine French wine, and the aroma - heavenly! After all that yummy food, it was time for the pièce de résistance – an evening performance at the Palais Garnier Opera House! The grand staircase – the chandelier – oh, it just transported me to another time! The entire building exudes glamour and history. We were treated to an amazing performance of La Bayadère, complete with swirling tutus and delicate footwork - truly the ultimate display of ballet perfection!
Today’s blog is just a glimpse into my Parisian adventure, and trust me, there is much more to come! I've got so much to explore – museums, cathedrals, cobbled streets, charming cafés - the possibilities are endless!
Stay tuned for my next post, as we explore more of this city of magic. I’ll be writing about my must-see landmarks, finding hidden gems, and of course, sharing my latest fashion finds! In the meantime, stay positive, stay sparkly, and remember – a tutu makes every day an adventure!
Until next week,
Love,
Emma xx

What to see in Paris in February?
There's no better time than February to discover Paris! While February marks the end of the Parisian high season, there's still a lot to see and experience in the City of Lights, from grand Parisian events to romantic escapes. Here are a few ideas:
Embrace the spirit of February's events:
Chinese New Year (February 10th 2013): The Paris Chinatown comes alive with festive decorations, dragon dances, and parades, and an explosion of Chinese tradition. This is the time to find the most fabulous Asian-inspired accessories to go with your Parisian look!
Valentine’s Day: If you're in Paris on February 14th, be prepared to be swept up in the romance of the city! Head to Montmartre for a stroll through the cobbled streets, grab a Parisian café coffee and a croissant, and don’t forget the romantic setting for a kiss by the Eiffel Tower. You'll never forget it!
Carnaval de Paris: Held in the weeks leading up to Lent, this colorful street festival is full of dancing, music, costumes, and vibrant parades – a great way to celebrate the spirit of Parisian street performance and let your inner tutu dancer free!
Don’t miss these Parisian gems:
- The Eiffel Tower: No Parisian adventure is complete without ascending this iconic tower.
- The Louvre Museum: Explore the world of art, from Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece the Mona Lisa to Egyptian antiquities. Be prepared to see tutus depicted in so many artworks, from ballet posters to Renaissance-era paintings. The tutu has a history that dates back centuries!
- Notre Dame Cathedral: This breathtaking Gothic masterpiece is an architectural marvel! For the most impressive views of the Cathedral head over to the nearby Ile de la Cité, and explore its charming streets.
- The Musée d’Orsay: Take a journey into Impressionism with renowned paintings by Manet, Renoir, Monet, and Degas. I'm hoping to be inspired to design a new tutu based on these works of art!
Travel and Stay:
Paris is easily accessible by train. From London, you can hop on a comfortable Eurostar train for a super quick trip to the city centre, with plenty of time to relax, read a good book, or maybe even practice your ballet positions.
Find the perfect accommodation in Paris! Whether you prefer the bustle of the city centre, the charm of the Left Bank, or the tranquility of a neighbourhood tucked away off the main routes, there's a perfect Parisian hotel waiting for you.
Have fun exploring the City of Lights!
The city will definitely inspire your creative side! And as for my fashion inspiration – let's just say Parisian fashion is definitely in my future posts!
