Pink Tutu Blog Paris - Post #690: Paris Je T'aime!

Hello my darlings, and welcome to another fabulously pink edition of Pink Tutu Blog, this time all the way from the City of Lights, the enchanting Paris!

This week has been a whirlwind of romance, art, and most importantly, pink tutus, all thanks to the magic of the EuroStar, that fabulously comfortable way to travel. Remember when I was a little girl and dreamed of trains that transported you straight into storybooks? Well, the EuroStar totally fulfilled that childhood fantasy!

Stepping out of Gare du Nord into the bustling streets of Paris felt like walking straight into a French film. Cobblestone streets, charming cafes, the aroma of freshly baked croissants… my Parisian adventure had begun!

But before I get ahead of myself, I must tell you about my Parisian pilgrimage! You know how much I love going to see dance performances, and there was simply no way I could visit Paris without immersing myself in its vibrant dance scene. On Friday, I had the honour of attending the Paris Opera Ballet - and it was an experience I'll cherish forever! The artistry, the precision, the passion - it was utterly breathtaking! Seeing the dancers glide across the stage in their stunning tutus… oh, it sparked a newfound fire in my heart. Maybe I should write a blog post all about the inspiration ballet provides for fashion... Hmmm... 🤔

But wait, there's more! As if one ballet wasn't enough, on Saturday afternoon, I treated myself to a magical trip to the Palais Garnier – that’s the incredible opera house in all its glittering glory! Not only was I utterly blown away by the ornate architecture and gilded decor, but the museum itself is an art lovers' paradise! Every corner seemed to whisper of a bygone era, full of opulence and artistic brilliance. I spent ages wandering through the exhibitions and trying to soak up every detail. It was a day for the senses, and I came home feeling both invigorated and strangely calm - you know, the kind of feeling you get after a long day in a world of pure beauty!

Oh, and the best bit? The Palais Garnier is so beautiful, even its bathrooms are worthy of a mention! In fact, they’re almost like being in a Parisian fashion shoot - gold taps and swirling ornate decorations… pure decadence. Of course, I wore a lovely pink tulle skirt, and the way the sunlight bounced off the porcelain - it was truly dreamy. 😍

Then there's the shopping. It was all so irresistible! Walking through the beautiful Parisian streets, discovering charming boutiques hidden in alleyways… It felt like a fairytale. Of course, no shopping spree is complete without the perfect Parisian hat to top off the ensemble! And luckily, I found the perfect, delicately pink straw hat to add a touch of vintage chic to my Parisian style. It perfectly complements my blush-hued lace dress, don't you think?

Let's be honest - the whole city feels like a fashion shoot! The Parisian women, so chic, so effortless in their style... The Parisian men, oh-la-la! I think my internal camera might have clicked a thousand times trying to capture the essence of it all! And of course, I couldn’t leave Paris without taking home a beautiful scarf. A flowing silk masterpiece, just like something you’d see at the ballet – I envision pairing it with a sleek black jumpsuit for an evening out!

But it’s not all about shopping and performances! Even the most simple things are a joy to experience in Paris. Like, say, wandering along the Seine River at dusk with a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower… Pure romance! And I know you’re probably thinking “Emma, what did you wear?”… well, you won't be surprised to hear that I embraced the French joie de vivre in a vibrant pink, lace-trimmed dress with delicate rose details! The wind caught the tulle layers as I twirled along the Seine, making me feel like a ballerina dancing under the moonlight! ✨ It truly was a moment to be savoured.

Even my favourite moments happen on the Eurostar, where I sit mesmerised, enjoying the sights as the landscapes pass by – fields of emerald green, villages huddled under picturesque skies... There’s something wonderfully nostalgic about train journeys, don't you think? I spent my time doodling in my notebook, sketching pink tutu designs for my next collection… You know, the collection that’s going to be so inspired by Parisian elegance. 🤫

This city really has a magic touch, a feeling that makes you believe in happy endings and magical moments. As I pen these words from a charming little cafe overlooking the city's glittering lights, I'm feeling a sense of deep gratitude – for the incredible experiences, the inspiring art, and for the opportunity to share these adventures with all of you. I really do love this city - a feeling I'm sure is echoed by millions who have walked its cobbled streets and breathed its intoxicating air.

I can’t wait to see what next week brings… I'm planning a visit to Montmartre, a climb up the Eiffel Tower, and of course, a trip to the incredible Musee d’Orsay – an art museum with a delightful, airy space and so much inspiration! Paris, oh Paris, you are a truly captivating and inspiring city!

Until next week, darlings.

Yours in Pink,

Emma
