Bonjour, mes chérie! It's Saturday again, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog post, straight from the City of Lights, Paris! As I sit here sipping my café au lait and writing to you from a charming little bistro, a feeling of pure joy washes over me. Oh, Paris, you have a special place in my heart.
This week, I've been living the dream – ballet shows, exploring hidden Parisian corners, and indulging in some seriously fabulous fashion finds! It's all been rather extraordinary, you see.
The Eurostar Journey – My Favourite Kind of Travel
This week's journey was via the Eurostar, as usual. It truly is the most glamorous way to travel. With its comfortable seats, impeccable service, and the ability to watch the world zip by – what's not to love? Especially as I'm never without my travel essential: a hot pink tulle tutu – a perfectly acceptable and decidedly chic Parisian look. I did receive a few curious glances, but really, the only acceptable reaction is "Oh, you're gorgeous!" Don't you agree?
The Show Must Go On!
My trip to Paris always includes seeing a show – I just love seeing a beautiful ballet performance. This week, I was enchanted by the Paris Opera Ballet at the Palais Garnier. The choreography was divine, the costumes were spectacular (just look at that magnificent tulle!), and the sheer energy of the dancers just blew me away. It’s such an incredible thing to experience. Afterwards, I went backstage and met some of the dancers – they were all so friendly and kind. We even got a photo together – oh la la! My life as a tutu-wearing ballet blogger is just getting more exciting every day!
Ooh la la! Parisian Shopping!
I don’t think a Parisian adventure is complete without some seriously stylish shopping, am I right? Now, I love all things fashion, but I especially have a soft spot for vintage clothes. So naturally, my trip this week was not complete without exploring some hidden Parisian boutiques, and let me tell you, I found some absolute gems! A beautiful cream lace dress with delicate embellishments for my next performance. And just look at this! A bright fuchsia feather boa that's absolutely screaming for a Pink Tutu Blog post! This vibrant shade really makes my eyes sparkle!
Street Performance & Theatrical Flair
There’s just something magical about Paris. It seems to inspire artists and performers in every corner. Just this week I saw the most fantastic street performer by the Louvre, dancing in an enormous white tutu, I watched as he captivated the crowds with his energetic dance moves. It was so entertaining, and it just reminded me of the power of ballet and its ability to make people smile. This is exactly what I try to achieve in my own dancing - sharing the magic and the joy of this wonderful art form with everyone around me! There’s nothing more beautiful than watching a person perform with such passion. I wish I could have shared that moment with all my lovely Pink Tutu readers!
French Fashion & The Art of Living
And speaking of things beautiful, have you seen the fashions? From the trendy vintage styles of the Parisian ladies, to the iconic Parisian designers creating collections every season, I find so much inspiration! Even if I haven't gone all out with the traditional Parisian look myself, I have adopted the philosophy of dressing for yourself and being unapologetically chic. Which, of course, always means adding a hint of pink to every ensemble, be it with a colourful scarf, a delicate pearl necklace, or a stunning pair of pink ballet shoes!
Tutu Magic: Spreading The Joy
Now, you all know my ultimate dream is to get everyone wearing a pink tutu. Every single one of us! It’s so fun to see others embrace their own inner tutu-wearing ballerina, and I know the joy is contagious! I even found a beautiful little vintage pink tutu boutique near the Eiffel Tower this week – such a fantastic find, it will be my next purchase! And, perhaps, I'll be brave enough to try one out in Paris and have it documented for Pink Tutu Blog, what do you think?
What's Happening This Week?
And what else is on the agenda? Well, the iconic Notre Dame is still under reconstruction, but the view from its scaffolding offers a stunning glimpse of the City of Lights from a new perspective, so it's definitely worth checking out. For those of you seeking something a bit more immersive, the Musée Rodin houses a remarkable collection of the renowned sculptor's work. There is no shortage of beauty and creativity to inspire in Paris.
