Pink Tutu Paris: Bonjour from the City of Lights! (Post #695)

Saturday 2013-04-20

Bonjour, darlings! Itā€™s Emma, your favourite pink-tutu-clad ballerina, back from the City of Lights, with a heart full of joie de vivre and a suitcase full of Parisian treasures. This weekā€™s post marks the beginning of a thrilling journey that's going to fill my blog with the romance of Parisian life ā€“ the cobbled streets, the delectable croissants, the breathtaking architectureā€¦ oh, and of course, the endless fashion inspiration!

I arrived in Paris this morning on the EuroStar. As the train sped through the French countryside, I was overcome with the magic of this journey. Honestly, I could ride a train for hours, the gentle rhythm of the journey a perfect soundtrack to daydreams and endless possibilities. (Anyone else share my love affair with train travel?)

Landing in the heart of Paris, the moment I stepped off the station, I was greeted with a symphony of sounds, sights and smells that filled me with a giddy sense of adventure. I couldnā€™t help but spin a little in my pale pink tutu, my new silk scarf whipping around me in a kaleidoscope of colour. This, my loves, is where my tutu takes me - straight into the heart of a captivating adventure.

Fashion Finds and Parisian Charm:

Naturally, my first stop had to be the grand Galeries Lafayette! Stepping inside felt like stepping into a scene straight out of a romantic film ā€“ glittering chandeliers, exquisite displays and, most importantly, an intoxicating aroma of designer perfumes. After all, every Parisian journey demands a splash of Chanel No. 5, doesn't it?

The Galeries Lafayette wasnā€™t just about browsing, though. It was about finding those perfect little treasures that spoke to my inner fashionista. I came away with the most divine coral-pink knitted scarf and a tiny silver Eiffel Tower necklace - so delicate, just like a ballerinaā€™s touch!

Speaking of ballerina-inspired style, I've already spotted some incredible street fashion in Paris! Itā€™s an exhilarating mix of classic Parisian chic and the kind of whimsical style that gets my creative juices flowing.

But it wasnā€™t just the shops that stole my heart. Paris itself felt like a beautiful runway. Imagine the cobbled streets as my stage and the beautiful buildings as the audience. Every cafe, every flower stall, every corner had its own character. I couldnā€™t help but want to take photos of it all, capture the magic, the sparkleā€¦

A Date With The Dance World:

Now, my loves, you know a Parisian adventure wouldn't be complete without a dose of ballet! This evening, I am absolutely thrilled to be attending a performance at the iconic Palais Garnier, the heart of Parisā€™ ballet world. I have been dreaming of seeing the "Giselle" production, with its delicate choreography and haunting story.

The Palais Garnier itself is a testament to Parisian opulence. I just know itā€™ll be the perfect setting to soak in the breathtaking talent on stage. Every ballerina dreams of performing in a place with so much history. To be a part of the magic even as a spectator feels extraordinary.

Oh, and if you havenā€™t seen Giselle before, trust me - the story will leave you breathless. It's a love story with a touch of magical realism, a perfect mix for a dreamy evening!

Whatā€™s On This Week:

So, letā€™s talk about what Paris has in store for this weekend.

Saturday is my arrival day ā€“ filled with explorations, discoveries, and a healthy dose of Parisian magic.

On Sunday, Iā€™m planning a picnic at the Luxembourg Gardens ā€“ sunshine, fresh air, a basket full of French treats, and the best kind of ballet warm-up with a little practice on my portable barre. (You never know who you might meet, and the perfect Parisian outfit is a prerequisite, of course!)

Monday is for the museums! The MusƩe Rodin is high on my list for some art appreciation and a dose of inspiration.

The rest of the week is for a whirl of fashion and food delights ā€“ from browsing independent boutiques to tasting the finest pastries in Paris. (Remember those Instagram-worthy macaron towers?! I might have already ordered my very own, hehe.)

A Piece of My Pink World in Paris

Paris is so full of life ā€“ vibrant, beautiful, charming, and incredibly chic! But thereā€™s one more thing that truly made this city come alive for me: finding little pieces of my own ā€œPink Tutu Worldā€ amidst the Parisian streets.

Imagine this ā€“ wandering past a bustling cafe when I spotted a charming vintage boutique. Not only did they have the most exquisite collection of antique clothes and jewellery, but they also had a display of delicate ballerina figurines. As a ballerina who loves all things pink and sparkly, my heart just skipped a beat.

That's just a glimpse into the journey I'm sharing with you this week. There's so much more to tell ā€“ Parisian gardens, delicious French cuisine, and a little more shopping, of course! Keep checking in for more stories and adventures in this city of endless possibilities.

And remember, darlings, spread the joy of ballet and let your own unique style blossom! Embrace the pink, embrace the tutu, and embrace the beautiful life you're living.

Au revoir for now,
Emma www.pink-tutu.com
