Pink Tutu Paris: A Whirlwind of Fashion, Ballet and Bonjour! (#696)
Bonjour mes amis! 🩰💖
This Saturday marks another thrilling week of my Parisian adventure, and I'm just bursting to share all the fabulous things I've discovered. As usual, you'll find me twirling through the City of Lights, fuelled by a love of pink, tutus, and, of course, ballet!
This week's blog post, my #696th Paris post for www.pink-tutu.com, is brimming with excitement - because darling, I travelled by EuroStar! 🚄 That's right, I left my Derbyshire home and landed right in the heart of Paris, the perfect way to start a magical weekend!
My trip to Paris is a direct result of a wonderful string of ballet performances back home. You see, I'm so lucky that my passion for ballet can fund these extraordinary adventures. It truly shows you, dear reader, that following your dreams really does pay off! 💫
So, let's get down to the nitty gritty of my week in Paris, shall we?
Saturday 27th April: A whirlwind of tutus and fashionMorning
I stepped off the EuroStar with a grin that could only be described as "I'm in Paris!" (and a suitcase bursting with pink tutus - gotta be prepared, darling!) I couldn't wait to hit the streets, soaking in the Parisian sunshine and the vibrant atmosphere of this amazing city.
My first stop was the Gare du Nord, where I was immediately smitten with the stunning architecture, reminiscent of something out of a ballet set. I love a building that has a touch of drama, don't you?
Lunchtime
My belly started rumbling (who doesn't get a little hungry after a train journey?) so I ventured into a charming cafe near the Gare du Nord. It was simply adorable with pale pink chairs and white tablecloths. Of course, I had to order a pink lemonade! 🍋 What else is a pink tutu girl to do?
Afternoon
It's just not Paris without a visit to the Champs-Élysées, darling! My heart went a little pitter patter when I stepped onto the famous avenue - it felt like walking into a vintage movie scene. There was so much life and excitement! Of course, no visit to the Champs-Élysées is complete without indulging in some fabulous fashion finds! My eyes practically popped out of my head as I wandered past luxury boutiques with shimmering window displays. (I can't share my loot with you quite yet - gotta keep it under wraps for my upcoming "Pink Tutu Parisian Fashion Finds" post - don't worry, I won't make you wait too long!)
Evening
After an afternoon of browsing beautiful clothes, it was time for something truly magical. This evening, darling, I experienced something that's right up my alley: a ballet street performance! It took place just around the corner from my hotel in a small square - I swear, I saw fairies flitting around the dancers' feet, they were so enchanting.
Outfit Inspiration
This Saturday, my look was all about classic Parisienne chic. I sported a white ruffled blouse with delicate lace trims and my signature tulle tutu in a soft blush pink. (It's one of my go-to outfits for when I'm on the move in Paris - chic, comfortable, and just a bit whimsical.) For my footwear, I opted for a pair of elegant ballet pumps with delicate satin ribbons, perfect for strolling down the Champs-Élysées.
Sunday 28th April: Bonjour from the Palais Garnier!Morning
Today's Parisian escapade promised to be one for the ages, my dear friends - a visit to the iconic Palais Garnier, the home of the Paris Opera! (Get your camera ready!) I arrived at the grand opera house just as the sun peeked over the buildings - such a beautiful sight. It's a magnificent building that made me feel like I had stepped straight onto a Parisian stage! I'm practically speechless just thinking about the intricate architecture and exquisite details - so full of grandeur.
Lunchtime
To really feel like a Parisian princess, I decided to grab a lunch at Cafe de la Paix. Talk about ambiance, darling! It has an elegant and refined atmosphere, the perfect spot for soaking up Parisian style while I enjoyed a classic croissant and a cafe au lait (which came in the prettiest, vintage porcelain cup - of course!).
Afternoon
A walk in the Tuileries Gardens was just what I needed after my morning's grand adventures! These beautiful gardens are right across from the Louvre, offering a tranquil oasis from the hustle and bustle of Paris. I imagined all the lovely Parisian women wandering these gardens, dressed to the nines in flowing silk skirts and floral bonnets. So elegant, darling! It's no wonder it inspired so many Impressionist paintings!
Evening
I finally made my way to Le Moulin Rouge, the famed Parisian cabaret. Talk about sparkle, my dear friends - the Moulin Rouge is pure glitter and glamour! It’s more than just a performance; it's a sensory experience. My eyes practically bulged from my head as I took in all the beautiful feathers and glitz - a true masterpiece of entertainment! The music, the dancing, and the beautiful costumes were nothing short of spectacular. I was entranced, utterly mesmerized by it all.
Outfit Inspiration
For a visit to the Palais Garnier, I wanted an outfit that exuded elegance and sophistication. I chose a beautifully flowing, pale pink gown that pooled elegantly on the floor and had the most stunning, intricate beadwork. (Oh, darling, it practically sang opera when I walked!). I wore my signature blush-pink tutu layered underneath for that perfect touch of pink ballerina whimsy. I topped it off with a delicate, ivory satin shawl that shimmered in the light - it's the perfect combination of grace and glam!
Monday 29th April: Bonjour from the heart of the Marais!Morning
My Monday was dedicated to exploring the vibrant Marais neighborhood! Oh, I love its unique blend of medieval history and chic, modern boutiques. First, I paid a visit to the Place des Vosges, a beautiful square surrounded by gorgeous, red brick buildings. I wandered past flower stalls and enjoyed a delicious pastry at a small, charming bakery. It truly felt like a step back in time.
Lunchtime
I treated myself to a crepe on a cobbled street - a quintessential Parisian experience.
Afternoon
Darling, my love for the "Parisian street art" knows no bounds! So today I spent the afternoon discovering the colourful murals and graffiti in the Marais.
Evening
I enjoyed a fabulous theatre performance, this time at the Théâtre du Châtelet. The show was an amazing dance performance that incorporated music, visual effects and even acrobatics - a truly breathtaking experience that had my head swirling with delight!
Outfit Inspiration
My Marais outfit was a delightful mix of modern style and classic Parisienne chic! I paired my pink tutu with a vintage-inspired black and white striped T-shirt. I completed my look with my trusty black and white ballet flats with a whimsical white ribbon, ready to explore the Marais.
Conclusion:This weekend in Paris has truly been a dream come true! I am absolutely charmed by this enchanting city. Paris always offers a beautiful blend of elegance, culture, and vibrant life, which is exactly what my pink-tutu loving heart needs.
What are some of your favorite Parisian spots, my darlings? Let me know in the comments!
And remember, life is about dancing through the world with a little bit of whimsy and lots of pink tutus.
Au revoir for now, my loves!
