Pink Tutu Paris - Post #697: Ooh la la! Paris is Pink!
Bonjour mes amies! Welcome to the six hundred and ninety-seventh post of my Paris adventures! As always, I'm writing to you straight from the City of Lights, and oh my, this weekend has been truly divine! Let's just say I'm positively pink with excitement to tell you all about it...
A Pink Tutu Voyage
It wouldn't be a proper Pink Tutu Paris blog post without a little bit of train travel, would it? So, as always, I took the EuroStar from Derbyshire (I'm telling you, that view over the channel never gets old!), my trusty pink tutu safely stowed in my carry-on bag, ready for Parisian adventures. This time, I even had my very own little "Pink Tutu Travel" playlist, filled with bubbly Parisian tunes and uplifting French pop music – just to get my dancing heart ready!
A Ballet Rendezvous
Now, you know how I love seeing shows in Paris. This weekend, the Palais Garnier was calling my name! The Paris Opera Ballet was performing "La Bayadère", and trust me, it was pure enchantment! The costumes, the choreography, the sheer artistry! Even a tiny ballerina like me could only dream of performing on that grand stage. I had the best seat in the house, thanks to a very special invitation I received – more about that in my next post! After the show, I snuck backstage for a quick chat with some of the dancers (it was worth a bit of nervous sweat!), and you wouldn’t believe it, but I even managed to convince one of them to strike a pose with me – a pink tutu for a ballerina! How exciting!
Fashion Forward Frenzy
Of course, no Paris trip is complete without a little retail therapy, wouldn't you say? And oh my, my pursestrings were feeling quite stretched this week. My trusty Pink Tutu blog credit card is still getting over it. From the iconic shops along the Champs-Élysées to the hidden boutiques on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Paris truly is a fashion wonderland! I even found the most divine, oh-so-vintage pink beret for my little ballerina head, paired perfectly with a fluffy, feather-boa - my French look is complete!
From Galleries to Gardens
I had a very girly, yet classy day at the Louvre! I saw everything, but especially the "Mona Lisa" - how could I not? It's always a good time to remember the true feminine power of art and creativity! Later, I decided to relax a bit with a picnic by the Eiffel Tower. This Sunday, I even decided to spend some time at the beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg, sipping some French lemonade and sketching, as a Parisian princess should.
Pink Tutu Goals: 100% achieved!
I can tell you, Paris was truly pink this week! A fellow ballerina was even wearing her pink tutu as we passed on the street, proving my theory that pink tutus can change the world, one Parisian promenade at a time! It’s amazing how spreading the pink tutu message is contagious, isn't it? And even more amazing that people here get it, and are loving the vibrant colour and movement of this awesome ballet look!
A Week of Wonder, A Pink Tutu Dream
It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Paris blog without a few words about what’s to come next! There is so much more to explore in this incredible city! Next weekend, I’m off to explore the bohemian side of Paris, discovering more incredible vintage finds and maybe even learning a bit about how the fashion world in Paris operates! You'll have to tune in to read all about it next week!
Until next Saturday, mes amis!
Your Parisian ballerina blogger,
Emma x
