#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post #714 - Saturday 31st August, 2013: Exploring Paris in Pink

Bonjour mes amies!

It’s Saturday, which means it’s time for another #PinkTutuBlogParis post! I’m absolutely buzzing because I'm in the most magical city in the world - Paris! And yes, I've packed my very own pink tutu (obviously!) for the occasion, so prepare yourselves for a whirl of fashion, fun, and fabulous French flair!

You guys know how much I love to travel by train, and the Eurostar journey to Paris was just pure bliss. The comfy seats, the smooth ride, and the chance to get my "travel blogger" game face on - it’s all part of the experience! I even managed to squeeze in a spot of ballet practice during the journey, because, let’s be honest, a ballerina has to keep up those pirouettes, even in transit.

Arriving in Gare du Nord, I was immediately hit by that unmistakable Parisian energy. I inhaled the delicious mix of coffee, croissants, and culture that fills the air, and knew I was going to have the most wonderful time!

My first stop had to be a Parisian institution: LadurĂ©e. It wouldn’t be a #PinkTutuBlogParis adventure without indulging in those delectable macarons! Their beautiful pastel colours, the delicate flavours, and the delightful crunch... Pure heaven! You know I had to photograph the macarons in my pink tutu, because what’s a blog post about Parisian delights without a pink tutu photo?

Later on, after I’d wandered the beautiful streets of Paris, I took myself to a charming little cafĂ©, where I indulged in a pot of steaming French coffee, some buttery croissants, and of course, people watching. Paris is such an inspiring city for me. From the elegant women in their chic outfits, to the street performers showcasing their talents, every corner is a captivating art form!

Talking of inspiring art, I caught an absolutely breathtaking ballet performance at the Palais Garnier, one of the most stunning opera houses I’ve ever seen! The chandeliers were twinkling like stars, the music was a feast for my soul, and the ballerinas moved with such grace and power, it took my breath away. It's such a treat for a dancer to be surrounded by so much talent. This performance truly gave me that “dancing on air” feeling!

After a full day of experiencing Parisian magic, I finished off the day in my hotel room, gazing out at the Eiffel Tower. You can see her silhouette so perfectly from my window! It felt like the city itself was saying a "bonne nuit" to me, and wishing me a restful night's sleep. But don’t think for a second that I went to sleep without taking a few final Instagram-worthy pics of Paris’s most iconic landmark! You all know I'm a huge fan of capturing every moment of this pink tutu life.

So, what's happening in Paris today, on August 31st?

  • Well, it’s World Opera Day, so be sure to check out some local opera performances, or even sing along at home. I'm not too bad at operatic singing, it's just I prefer ballet!
  • If you love history, it's the anniversary of the liberation of Paris in World War II, a momentous day that forever changed the city’s fate.

As I head to bed, I'm already dreaming about my next Parisian adventure, because let's be honest, one day in Paris is never enough! Stay tuned for more pink tutu shenanigans from the City of Lights.

Until next time,
Emma XOXO

P.S. I've been practicing a few new ballet moves that I can’t wait to show you guys in my next blog post! If you’re looking for inspiration, why not check out the Ballet de l'OpĂ©ra de Paris online, they’re always full of inspiration. You could also give yourself a fun Parisian ballet session. Just get on YouTube and find yourself a French ballerina! As always, I want you to keep in mind - never stop dreaming, and keep on twirling! And don't forget your pink tutu!
