Pink Tutu Blog Paris - #715

Saturday, 2013-09-07

Bonjour mes amies! (That’s hello in French, for any newbies! 😉)

Another Saturday, another Parisian adventure! This week, I'm feeling all kinds of Parisian chic - think effortless elegance with a touch of pink, naturally. This blog is all about embracing the joy of movement and fashion, and there’s no better city in the world to do it than Paris.

Let’s start with the journey itself! This week, the Eurostar was my chariot to Paris. There’s something truly magical about sitting on a sleek, modern train, watching the countryside whizz by. It’s such a calming way to travel - all those views, so much more serene than jostling through crowded airports, am I right? And who can resist a quick trip to the buffet carriage for a croissant or two?

Speaking of joy and elegance, my outfit today was a vision of pink perfection. It started with my signature pink tutu - of course! This time, it was a flowing tulle confection, complete with a little sequin detail for some added sparkle. Paired with a delicate ivory blouse and a tailored blazer, I was feeling confident and graceful. The whole look felt quintessentially Parisian.

Let's talk about the wonders of Paris!

Firstly, it was a brilliant September day. Sunshine and cool air made exploring the city a delight. I spent the morning getting lost in the maze of streets of the Marais district. What better place to hunt for treasures than amidst the vintage boutiques and art galleries?

Oh my! I found the most stunning velvet bolero jacket in a hidden gem of a shop! It was a gorgeous shade of sapphire blue and had intricate beading – I simply had to have it! The shopkeeper was charming and we chatted about all things fashion. Apparently, I looked ‘divine’, so naturally I bought the jacket – and a little sparkly bag to go with it, of course.

After my treasure hunt, a Parisian picnic in the Jardin du Luxembourg was a must! My trusty pink gingham picnic blanket (essential Parisian accessory!) kept me comfy as I tucked into some delicious French cheese and crusty bread. The gardens themselves are breathtaking – rows of sculpted topiary, sparkling fountains and an abundance of sunflowers. Simply glorious.

But I was not just in Paris to explore its chic streets and admire the fashion - my heart longed for ballet!

The evening was dedicated to the world-famous Palais Garnier Opera House! Imagine the opulence of chandeliers sparkling like a million stars, a breathtakingly ornate interior and, of course, incredible ballet performances. The company was on top form. The energy, the precision, the sheer beauty - it moved me to tears.

Of course, my trusty pink tutu and me couldn't resist joining in with a Parisian ballet class at a local studio later in the evening. The instructor was kind and encouraging, and everyone in the class was friendly. What a lovely experience to share! We were all twirling, leaping and enjoying the movement. You know how much I love connecting with other dancers. I believe the joy of movement can touch every soul - whether they've ever put on a pointe shoe or not!

And who knew that Paris could be the backdrop for the most perfect sunset?! It was like something out of a movie, painting the sky with strokes of fiery orange, deep pink and golden light. It was breathtaking and a perfect end to another day of Paris magic.

Speaking of movie magic, don’t forget, my travel adventures are all funded by my ballet performances! My little ballerina soul works hard to make my dreams of travelling the world in my pink tutu a reality! The money I earn is for this – sharing all of it with you. It’s a passion, a job and a mission, all rolled into one.

My little pink tutu message? Wear your heart on your sleeve, literally! Express yourself, find your own joy and share it with the world. Paris has shown me how much beauty, inspiration and adventure is available to all of us – just a hop, skip and twirl away!

Until next week, mes chères, keep those tutus twirling! 💖
