Bonjour from the City of Lights! This weekend, I'm trading Derbyshire hills for Parisian charm and I am SO excited! This week has been all about finalising my tour dates and finalising choreography for my upcoming "En Pointe" performance in Manchester - talk about whirlwind weeks, I've practically lived in my dancing shoes this last week! But even the busiest ballerina needs a holiday, and a break from the strict regime of rehearsals, so it's time to trade pointe shoes for the glamorous chic of Parisian streets.
The Journey:
Who could resist a journey aboard the sleek EuroStar? Even the most avid ballerina can't help but get swept away by the feeling of travelling in style. And, to my delight, I found a charming, rather well-dressed little old man in my carriage who adored ballet! We had a lovely chat, full of enthusiastic whispers about famous ballerinas and historical performances, while watching the French countryside whiz past. I swear I heard the music of the ballet 'Giselle' wafting in from the speakers - pure Parisian magic!
Parisian Debut
As soon as I stepped onto Gare du Nord station, I knew I was home. A bustling energy that whispers of dreams and ambition, alongside the allure of croissants and cafes! But my main objective? To conquer the Eiffel Tower. A ballerina atop the iconic tower, tutu flowing in the breeze, yes please! Luckily, I have some divine Parisian pink tutu plans up my sleeve - watch this space!

I wouldn't be true to myself if I didn't already have a plan of attack for shopping! Of course, a visit to the Chanel boutique is a must, although let's be honest, I won't be wearing it to a ballet class (or at least not with my current budget!). So, I’m hitting the independent boutiques for something chic, trendy, and undeniably pink. You know the drill – my ballet pink fashion flair will be coming along for the ride.
The Culture Craze:
But first, I'm diving headfirst into Parisian culture. I'm booked for an opera at the Palais Garnier - absolutely legendary - so that's top of the list! Imagine the costumes! I can hardly contain my excitement! I’m picturing feathers and glitter – all the stuff that makes a true ballerina’s heart flutter.
Today's Happenings: Exploring Montmartre
This morning, I took a wander through the quirky streets of Montmartre, soaking in the atmosphere of artists and creators. There's so much beauty, creativity, and of course, those iconic cobblestones! I actually spotted a little artisan's shop that sells ballet-inspired artwork, so I had to pop in. This tiny Parisian treasure trove has been tucked away in this enchanting district, full of local trinkets and whimsical decor. It was love at first sight! I walked out with the most exquisite hand-painted porcelain ballet figurine. This is going straight on the mantelpiece at home!
The Pink Tutu Parisian Dream
I’ve found a charming little local café tucked away in the heart of the artistic Montmartre district. I've already sipped endless cups of frothy, French hot chocolate with little mountains of cream on top, and savoured the most delightful croissants (a delicious guilty pleasure!).
The smell of the old, ancient Parisian streets - all warm, spiced with the perfume of blooming lilies and sweet pastries. It's simply breathtaking! This afternoon, I’ll head to the Tuileries Gardens for an afternoon of contemplation and inspiration. I’m sure it's bursting with Parisian magic! Maybe, a performance under the Eiffel Tower tonight… sigh dreams!

But you know me – no trip to Paris would be complete without a touch of ballerina magic, so I’ll be pairing my chicest Parisian outfits with some classic pink tulle! Every woman is a ballerina in their own way – and a touch of tutu magic can add a touch of Parisian fairy dust to every woman's look! This city is certainly living up to its expectations! I can’t wait to tell you all about tomorrow's adventures…
