Pink Tutu Blog Paris: #745 - A Parisian Waltz 🩰 🇫🇷
Bonjour, my darlings!
It’s Saturday, and you know what that means – a brand new Pink Tutu Blog Paris post! I’m Emma, your resident pink tutu aficionado, and this week, I’m straight from the heart of Paris – a city that makes my twirling heart sing! 🎶
Now, let’s get the big reveal out of the way. I arrived in Paris in style, of course, on the Eurostar. That wonderful silver streak across the Channel is like a little fairytale – you just know you’re going somewhere fabulous! ✨ And, for this week's blog post, I've donned a vibrant hot pink tutu. It's a little reminder of Derbyshire's spring blossom, which I miss so much! 🌸
This trip is extra special, though, because it's the culmination of months of ballet performances. I saved every penny from those magical evenings on stage to fund my Parisian adventure! You see, being a ballerina is more than just twirling - it's about dreaming, achieving, and indulging those beautiful, frivolous fancies. That’s where Paris comes in! 💕
Parisian Whirlwind 🌪️
This week has been an absolute whirlwind! The city is so brimming with life and energy that even a seasoned traveller like me felt swept off my feet. Every street corner, every quaint café, every grand boulevard feels like a set straight out of a ballet performance. It’s hard to know where to begin!
First stop, the Musée d’Orsay. This stunning building used to be a train station – how fabulous is that! I imagined myself performing a graceful pas de deux amidst those impressive iron arches. It would have been spectacular, but I'll settle for some fantastic art appreciation for now! 😉 The Impressionist paintings were mesmerising; you could feel the colour and energy vibrating from the canvases.
Next, I ventured into the Latin Quarter, a little haven for literature, culture, and of course, a phenomenal student population. This is the quintessential bohemian district of Paris, full of quirky bookshops, atmospheric cafés, and cobbled alleyways perfect for discovering new, beautiful things.
After my literary adventures, I headed for a ballet class. Let me tell you, a ballerina never leaves her tutu behind! Even when I’m touring the world, there's nothing like slipping back into a class and getting back to my roots. This was held in a grand old building with high ceilings and polished wooden floors, just the perfect setting for a beautiful dance.
A Celebration of the Arts 🎭
Friday night was a night to remember – a performance by the legendary Paris Opera Ballet. You might have heard of this legendary troupe? 😉 They were magnificent, and the Palais Garnier – their iconic home - was a palace of dreams. From the ornate details to the dazzling chandeliers, I was completely transported to a world of fairy tales and magical stories told through movement.
Of course, a trip to Paris isn't complete without some fashion adventures! I’ve already purchased a couple of elegant outfits, one a chic black jumpsuit and another, you guessed it – a gorgeous, pale pink ballgown! 💕 The French have such an effortless sense of style - I just adore it! A trip to the elegant boutique on Rue Saint Honoré is a must-do for any fashion enthusiast, it's a true shopping haven.
And now, for the highlights of the week…
- I saw an amazing street performance in the Place de la Concorde on Saturday morning, where a group of dancers created an incredible piece of theatre that was both energetic and beautiful.
- We (me, and of course, my beloved pink tutu!) sat on a terrace on Île Saint Louis on Tuesday and indulged in some delicious French macarons – pure decadence!
- Thursday morning was spent at the stunning Tuileries Gardens, taking photos with all the lovely pink roses. A must for any budding photographer (or even, ahem a ballet blogger)!
Tutu Tips for Paris
Okay, let’s get practical! My fellow tutued travellers, here's what I learned about Parisian life:
- Always wear comfortable shoes. Paris is a walking city! (You can always pop into a shop to put on a fresh pair of dance shoes!)
- Try a ‘picnic in the park.’ Gather some goodies at a local market and enjoy the ambiance of a Parisian garden. It’s more magical than any Michelin-starred restaurant.
- Speak some French – it makes a huge difference! Even just a "Bonjour Madame!" or "Merci beaucoup" brightens up the locals.
I know this has been a long post, but there's just so much to say about Paris! I’m heading to Versailles tomorrow, where the French history is even more impressive. Follow my journey on www.pink-tutu.com - and remember: Be your own kind of ballerina and always wear your heart on your sleeve! (Or, perhaps, in a tutu? ) 😉
See you next Saturday, and until then, may all your days be filled with twirls, magic, and pink! 💖
