#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post 760 - Saturday 19th July 2014 - A Whirlwind of Parisian Dreams!

Bonjour, darlings! Emma here, back from another thrilling adventure, and this time, I’m writing to you straight from the City of Lights - Paris! My heart is still buzzing from the excitement of the last few days and my tutu twirls haven't stopped since I arrived. It’s like a dream, I tell you. Oh, I just adore Paris, every cobbled street and every corner café, I could just get lost in this beautiful city.

Before I tell you all about my latest Parisian escapades, let me just quickly remind you where I am right now. I’m at the grand old Gare du Nord station, having just hopped off the EuroStar from London. The train journey is always an experience in itself - especially in my signature pink tutu - everyone stares and smiles, some even take photos, it's fantastic! And honestly, there’s something just magical about seeing the French countryside glide by, all those green fields and charming villages - a vision out of a painting, I tell you.

So, let's rewind back to the beginning of this delightful escapade. I booked my EuroStar ticket with the winnings I made from performing a couple of ballets last week. Nothing beats a ballet to finance a bit of globetrotting!

I packed my signature pink tutu (a lovely new one, purchased with the profits of my last show), my ballet flats, a handful of gorgeous floral dresses and a pair of bright pink, patent leather Mary Janes - and that, my darlings, was enough. Why bring anything else when you're in a city like this? Paris is simply begging you to indulge in a bit of impulsive shopping, wouldn't you agree?

And indulge I did. Yesterday, my very first morning in Paris, was all about discovering some new Parisian treasures. I am a complete magpie, I simply cannot resist a good rummage, particularly through vintage shops. Imagine my delight when I stumbled upon a small boutique hidden away on a tiny cobbled street - imagine my excitement when I unearthed the most fabulous vintage Dior handbag, oh my darling it’s just heavenly! It’s a classic black with intricate detailing and just whispers with Parisian chic - it will look divine with my new pink tutu, don't you think?

That afternoon, after indulging in a decadent Parisian croissant and a pot of strong black coffee, it was time for a little dance, I just cannot resist a ballet class! I was absolutely charmed by a studio tucked away near the Louvre. I practically floated across the floor as I followed the teacher's gentle instructions. My feet were aching, but the joy of a little ballet bliss is definitely worth it.

Now, on to the main event: Today, darling readers, is Bastille Day! Yes, it’s that time again when the French celebrate their national holiday with gusto, parades, music and of course, fireworks. I can’t wait to see all the spectacle! It’s the kind of Parisian atmosphere I was dreaming of.

I'm planning to watch the Bastille Day parade along the Champs-Élysées. And oh, my darlings, let’s not forget that I am definitely wearing my newest, most fabulous pink tutu for this special occasion - with a touch of silver sequins and a matching pink beret, of course. The French simply love tutus - why wouldn't they? It's all about expressing yourself and embracing the joy of dance, isn't it? So, it’s perfectly Parisian.

Tonight, my sweet friends, we have tickets to see the Nutcracker at the Palais Garnier - a true ballet extravaganza. Oh, darling, it’s going to be simply spectacular! It’s the grandest ballet theatre in Paris and a magnificent sight. I am going to be watching, utterly mesmerized by all those twirling ballerinas in their beautiful tutus and the gorgeous scenery and the most intricate costumes - all bathed in glorious lighting.

If that wasn't enough to satisfy my ballet desires, tomorrow morning, we’re attending a performance of ballet street. It's happening right in the heart of Montmartre and is all about contemporary dance on the street - modern, edgy and just full of captivating talent! I love street theatre. There's something magical about how these incredible artists blend with the Parisian streets.

Now, my dear friends, as you know I love to talk about all the fabulous fashions and trends of the moment. And here in Paris, fashion is literally in the air!

Oh, you should have seen the French ladies at a recent street market - dressed in their chic Parisian style with vintage jackets and classic striped tops paired with cute little beret hats and lovely ballet flats - their style is impeccable and effortlessly chic. Their effortless French style truly inspires me, every time.

Paris truly inspires the spirit. It makes me want to whirl around in my pink tutu with joyous abandon - it makes me want to chase every cobbled street and indulge in every vintage shop I find, and yes, of course, indulge in some more of that delectable Parisian coffee, it truly is heavenly!

Right now, I can hear the delicious smells of pastries drifting through the Gare du Nord. You know what I think I deserve? A delicious Parisian treat, a perfectly prepared pastry with strong black coffee - oh, and yes, darling, perhaps even another small, exquisitely crafted chocolate! After all, it's Paris. It's a treat for the soul and a dream come true!

Don’t forget, I’ll be posting more exciting news and discoveries from the City of Lights right here next week on Pink-tutu.com, so make sure you check back in!

A bientot, my dear friends, and happy twirling! Emma xoxo
