Bonjour from the City of Lights!
Itâs Emma here, your favourite tutu-wearing, pink-loving blogger, and this week I've touched down in the most magical city on Earth â Paris! I've been itching to get to this fabulous fashion haven for ages, and finally, the stars (and the EuroStar) aligned, and here I am!
As you know, my love affair with the EuroStar knows no bounds. Itâs such a dreamy way to travel â comfy seats, decent wifi (though who needs it when you can gaze at the ever-changing landscape and daydream about French pastries?), and an incredible sense of adventure.
This week's travels are sponsored by a performance I gave at the Derby Playhouse last month. Oh, I just love those stage lights! The feeling of performing and sharing my passion for dance with others is unbeatable, and the generous applause I received filled my tutu-clad heart with joy. Each performance is a step closer to my ultimate goal: a world where everyone embraces the joy of pink tutus and spins through life with grace and elegance!
Arriving in Paris⊠the moment I stepped onto the platform at Gare du Nord, a feeling of pure excitement bubbled up inside me. I practically skipped out of the station (though I admit I stopped for a brief moment to adjust my pink-sequined backpack, because even when you're in Paris, you need to make sure your style game is on point!).
My first stop? Naturally, it had to be a quick pit-stop at a local café for a steaming cup of café au lait and a delicate pastry. The aroma of freshly baked treats is intoxicating, and I can't deny the delicious pull of flaky croissants and gooey éclairs.
And speaking of âgooeyâ... This Saturday, November 22nd, marks the beginning of the world-renowned "Salon du Chocolat" in Paris! How could I not include this on my itinerary? I'm talking chocolate sculptures, decadent tastings, and enough cocoa-infused goodness to send even the most disciplined of eaters into a delightful sugar coma. I can't wait to indulge in some pure chocolate bliss!
I'm also planning to immerse myself in Parisâs rich cultural offerings, as usual, so ballet, opera, and theatrical performances are a must! This weekend alone, the OpĂ©ra Garnier is showcasing a beautiful production of âLa Traviata,â and I hear that the Palais Garnier is hosting a breathtaking show by the world-famous Ballet de lâOpĂ©ra National de Paris! There are few things more glamorous than watching a ballet in Paris â the beauty of the performances combined with the opulence of the venue simply takes your breath away.
Now, let's talk about the one thing that gets my fashionista heart pumping - SHOPPING! Paris is the ultimate fashion playground, with couture houses, designer boutiques, and endless hidden vintage treasures waiting to be discovered. My must-visit list is long and delicious! I have my eyes on a divine pink lace dress from Chanel and I'm hoping to find the perfect feather boa to complete my Parisian looks! And I absolutely must snag some beautiful, elegant Parisian perfume⊠what else could be more "Parisian" than that?
I also can't resist indulging in a little street-style inspiration. Who hasn't been mesmerized by the effortlessly chic Parisian ladies? They have an innate talent for mixing classic pieces with unexpected trends. They know how to accessorize and create an effortless, elegant look. Iâll be taking full advantage of my time in this stylish city and soak up every bit of fashion inspiration I can find!
Of course, no trip to Paris would be complete without exploring the romantic charm of this city. I plan to wander along the banks of the Seine, take a stroll through the enchanting Jardin du Luxembourg, and climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower for a panoramic view of the twinkling City of Lights.
I'm already making my "To Do" list grow longer with every minute, so it seems I'll need to pack my ballet shoes and pink tutus, and set off on an adventure in the heart of Parisian elegance.
