Pink Tutu Paris - Post #779: Bonjour, Beautiful Paris!

Saturday 29th November 2014

Darling readers! Bonjour from the City of Lights! Yes, you heard right, I'm in Paris! My Parisian adventures began on Wednesday morning with a rather magical train journey on the Eurostar. Honestly, who knew a train ride could be so delightful? The smooth journey was made even more exciting by my glorious, sparkling pink tutu, which I felt simply had to wear for the occasion.

Now, I must tell you about the Paris outfit. As a pink tutu wearer extraordinaire, I had to make a bold fashion statement! My pink tutu swirled and twirled, as I confidently walked the Parisian streets with my chic, raspberry-coloured wool coat. I even wore my sparkly, pink ballet flats! It felt utterly divine.

Paris has this indescribable charm. It truly is the City of Lights and its enchanting atmosphere makes every street a ballet performance. I found myself gliding around in my tutu, dreaming of grand waltzes in opulent theatres and delicate steps through bustling market stalls.

The magic of Parisian ballet

Paris is practically synonymous with ballet. I simply had to visit the legendary Palais Garnier Opera House. Standing in that grand, golden hall, surrounded by elegant architecture and plush red velvet seats, made me feel like a ballerina from another era. It was like stepping into a ballet production itself!

Luckily, I managed to secure tickets to a captivating performance by the Paris Opera Ballet. Seeing them dance so gracefully in their elegant costumes, beneath the shimmering chandeliers, left me completely speechless. Honestly, I couldn't believe I was witnessing this breathtaking ballet magic right before my very eyes. I simply had to dance! And of course, I found myself in the Jardin du Luxembourg, pirouetting beneath the grand fountain with the Seine River reflecting the glorious Parisian twilight.

Shopping like a true Parisian

Let’s be honest, every trip to Paris requires a bit of shopping, right? After the enchanting ballet performance, I couldn't resist a little spree at the charming boutiques of Le Marais. I found a breathtaking, hand-knitted cardigan in softest rose pink - the perfect piece to complement my tutu ensemble! It was definitely a day filled with pink delight.

I spent the following day discovering the hidden gems of the charming Montmartre neighbourhood. As I wandered past the quaint shops, artists' studios, and cafes, I was completely mesmerized. A colourful mosaic, reminiscent of a dancer's costume, even caught my eye, making me twirl with joy. The vibrant atmosphere of Montmartre definitely inspired a more vibrant pink and orange eyeshadow look – just perfect for a day exploring this colourful artistic hub!

A delicious feast

Naturally, no trip to Paris is complete without a taste of French cuisine. I dined at the most enchanting café, nestled amongst cobblestone streets. The delicious aroma of freshly baked bread and coffee beans filled the air, tempting me with the promise of a delicious, Parisian feast. My heart leapt for joy when I saw the "Tarte Tatin" on the menu, and let me tell you, it tasted simply divine. Each flaky layer of buttery pastry melted in my mouth, perfectly complemented by the caramelized apples. Oh, how I love the magic of Parisian food!

More than just tutus

While I absolutely love sharing my love for pink tutus, there’s so much more to life than pink. You know how I mentioned a ballet show in the Palais Garnier, well, my travel buddy and I stumbled across a little side street leading to the Musée Carnavalet. This hidden treasure took us on a journey through Paris’ fascinating history, showing us everything from the city’s early days to the Parisian Revolution and the birth of the fashion world!

We've explored many beautiful places in the last few days. Paris truly feels like a dance in itself!

But my favourite Parisian moments always involve tutus

Imagine twirling along the Seine at dusk, the Eiffel Tower a majestic silhouette against the evening sky! Honestly, the pink tutu is definitely a Parisian must-have! Just be careful when hopping on and off the metro – don’t let it get caught on those swinging doors! I wouldn’t be surprised if everyone starts wearing tutus in Paris soon! Who knows, I might just be responsible for a whole new trend!

See you next Saturday!
