Oh la la! The Eiffel Tower is sparkling like a million pink diamonds, the air is crisp with the scent of freshly baked pastries, and I'm finally here in the City of Lights! The Eurostar journey was as magical as ever – the countryside whizzing past, the click-clacking of the wheels, and me, naturally, twirling in my pink tulle skirt, the very essence of Parisian chic. My heart beats to the rhythm of the tracks, a ballet in its own right.
This week's #PinkTutuBlogParis adventure is dedicated to exploring the beauty, culture, and of course, the fashion of this incredible city! From the iconic Champs-Élysées to the quaint, charming streets of Montmartre, I'll be sharing all my Parisian adventures with you.
This weekend's itinerary? Well, naturally, it all revolves around dancing! I'm absolutely thrilled to have tickets to a performance of Swan Lake at the Palais Garnier Opera House – one of the most famous ballet venues in the world! I can already imagine the grandeur of the theatre, the intricate choreography, and the delicate beauty of the dancers.
But first, a Parisian shopping spree is a must! I'm eager to explore the boutique boutiques of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, where the aroma of designer perfume and the clinking of champagne glasses make my ballet-dancing heart sing. And of course, I wouldn't be true to myself if I didn't hunt for the perfect pink tutu! Paris is a haven for unique finds, and I have a feeling I'll be leaving with more than just a few souvenirs...
And let's not forget the food! Oh, the divine delights of French cuisine! From crusty baguettes dipped in creamy Brie to decadent macarons in every colour of the rainbow, my tastebuds are on a Parisian adventure of their own. I can already picture myself perched in a cozy café, savouring a café au lait and watching the world go by in a Parisian haze of enchantment.
But don't think I've abandoned my roots. I'm already dreaming up a way to inject a touch of Derbyshire into my Parisian adventure! Perhaps a photo shoot at the Eiffel Tower, twirling in my pink tutu, against a backdrop of Christmas lights? Or a performance at the Luxembourg Gardens, sharing the love of ballet with fellow enthusiasts?
Wherever my adventures take me this week, one thing remains certain: I'll be documenting every step, every twirl, every taste bud-tickling bite, and sharing it all with you, dear readers. This is, after all, the very essence of #PinkTutuBlogParis.

Saturday, 2014-12-27 - A Day of Ballet Bliss and Shopping Adventures:
My alarm clock, adorned with a miniature tutu, rang at a civilised hour (it’s all about elegance, even when travelling!) and the Parisian sunshine flooded through the window, beckoning me to begin the day's explorations.
A delicious breakfast at my little Parisian hotel, featuring perfectly flaky croissants and steaming cafe au lait, prepped me for the first order of the day: The Palais Garnier!
Walking into the Opera House felt like stepping back in time. Ornate gold gilding adorned every corner, glittering chandeliers cast shimmering rainbows on the velvet seats, and the sheer scale of the theatre took my breath away. It's no wonder the Phantom of the Opera made it his home!
I spent the afternoon engrossed in Swan Lake, my eyes flitting from the graceful, white-clad ballerinas to the handsome, athletic princes, and back again. The beauty of ballet never fails to enthrall me. Seeing such skill, artistry, and pure dedication on stage fuelled my passion for dance like a magical potion.
Of course, I couldn’t leave Paris without indulging in some serious shopping! Le Marais was the perfect spot. Cobbled streets, charming boutiques, and oh, the vintage fashion! My tutu collection is going to be exceptionally glamorous after today's shopping trip!
And then, to cap off a day of delightful debauchery, a little bit of Parisian elegance. The Tuileries Gardens bathed in the golden light of the setting sun offered the most beautiful backdrop. I couldn’t resist spinning under the glistening lights of the Ferris wheel, my pink tutu swishing around me like a ballet of its own.
Dinner at a cosy little French bistro with candlelit tables and laughter, served up delicious, heartwarming cuisine, and ended my day with a taste of true Parisian charm.
I can't wait to see what wonders tomorrow brings. Until then, au revoir from Paris! ✨

I paired it with a gorgeous blush-coloured tutu with a subtle, silver sparkle, a tiny pink bow nestled in my hair, and dainty ballerina flats with a touch of glittery gold. It’s about a touch of magic in everyday style.
Fun fact: I get so many messages from people around the world who are inspired to wear their own pink tutus! I just love that. A shared passion for twirling and bringing a bit of sparkle into our everyday lives!
