Bonjour from the City of Lights! 💖 #PinkTutuBlogParis - Post #822 🩰

Saturday 2015-09-26

Bonjour mes amis! It’s Emma here, writing to you from the most magical city in the world - Paris!

As you all know, I simply cannot resist a trip to Paris, the city of romance, culture, and of course, fashion!

This time I’ve left my Derbyshire home behind and hopped on the EuroStar for a whirlwind trip filled with tutu twirls and endless amounts of shopping. Let me tell you, there’s nothing more fabulous than watching the French countryside roll by, dressed in my favourite pink tutu.

Now, the main reason I'm here is a special ballet show. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see a full production of Giselle with the Paris Opera Ballet! I simply couldn’t miss it, and I know it will inspire so much more creative content for the blog!

But, let's face it, Paris is just a dream for any pink-loving ballerina. Every corner is bursting with elegance and inspiration, whether it's a charming Parisian café or a chic boutique on the Champs-Élysées.

A Day of Parisian Delights

This morning I woke up early, excited for a day filled with Parisian delights. The first stop on my agenda was a delicious croissant from a little bakery around the corner from my hotel - of course, accompanied by a strong coffee! What could be better?

The day truly started to shimmer when I wandered over to the iconic Galeries Lafayette, a shopping paradise where dreams are made. With my sparkly pink tutu swishing behind me, I found myself drawn to the luxurious displays of beautiful fabrics and elegant gowns - how I love Paris for this!

But no trip to Paris is complete without a dose of history and art. So I took a lovely stroll over to the Louvre and marveled at the timeless beauty of the Mona Lisa. It's incredible how a painting can move you so deeply, it's pure magic!

In the Evening - An Exquisite Performance of Giselle 🩰

As evening fell, I got dressed up in my most exquisite ballerina ensemble and headed for the Opéra Garnier. What a masterpiece! Just gazing at the intricate details and architecture is an experience in itself. Then, I took my place in the velvet seats, excited for the ballet performance to begin.

It was simply breath-taking. The dancers were so elegant and graceful, each step a symphony of movement. Giselle's story is simply beautiful - love, betrayal, and ultimately forgiveness. There were moments of such deep emotion and pure joy, it was truly inspiring.

And how wonderful it was to be among so many people who clearly adore ballet, I was sitting next to a sweet little girl who had her own tutu, so of course, we twirled together at the end of the show! She was such a little angel, just pure sunshine! It truly reminded me of why I love ballet - the sheer joy it brings.

Back at the Hotel 😴

Back at the hotel, my day ends with a little wine on the balcony and dreaming of the next morning. Tomorrow is another day to discover the magic of Paris - perhaps a visit to a ballet class at the Conservatoire de Paris? I’m feeling full of excitement.

What else is going on in Paris this Saturday?

Here’s what I found:

  • There's a special market happening near my hotel, I’ll be heading there first thing tomorrow to find some authentic French treats - and maybe a new scarf or two!

  • For the fashionistas amongst you, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs is hosting an exhibit on haute couture from the 1950s to the 1970s! It’s right up my alley!

  • And for the ballet lovers, the Palais Garnier is offering a tour of the backstage area and opera house, it looks utterly fascinating!

Until next time! Remember, stay sparkly! 💕

Emma xoxo
